Vegan Tuck Box have surpassed themselves.

This fabulous subscription service has, for a while now, been the go to supplier of hard to find sweets and chocolates. The monthly box delivery is always rammed solid with tasty snacks and delicious surprises. (I first wrote about the Vegan Tuck Box here)

But what of surpassing themselves?

Vegan Tuck Box is now the number one place in the UK for the best vegan candy on the planet. They have No No’sPeanot No No’sPeanot Cups and Chocolate Covered Pretzels. The better part of this news is you don’t have to hope to get these in the mystery subscription box as you can order what you want, when you want.

Click here to visit the Vegan Tuck Box shop to see all the candy and treats available, as well as the eight (yes, eight!) different subscription box options. I’m incredibly tempted by the chocolate lover’s box.

But that’s not all.

How would you like to win the following selection of the best vegan candy on the planet?

tuck box prizeYou have no idea how difficult it is for me to have this in my house and not eat everything. Many thanks (sarcastic and real) to Vegan Tuck Box for donating this selection of goodies as a giveaway.

How do you win?

This is an Instagram competition. Head on over to my Instagram account, find the photo you see above, like it and leave a comment. Also follow my account if you feel like it.

I will randomly pick a winner next week. I probably won’t pick you if we are friends or enemies. I will post the box to you wherever you are in the world.

Get to it!

Also, follow Vegan Tuck Box on Twitter for news of more gorgeous treats coming up!

Eat an egg

Have you got £15 burning a hole in your pocket? Get into your nearest Hotel Chocolat for this gourmet vegan Easter egg.

Made with almond powder, this decadent dairy-free egg is accompanied by chocolate bites packed with fruit and nuts. I was tempted, but just couldn’t bring myself to part with that sort of cash for an Easter egg.

What do you think? Is that crossing a price line you would never step over?

If you do take the plunge and shell out for this vegan egg, please let me know how if it is fabulous. I could still be swayed!

Vegan Scottish tablet

Do you like to eat delicious things?

This post is just for you.

I was recently contacted via email about a product called Dairy-free Scottish Tablet. Due to my birth having taken place decidedly south of the equator, I had no idea what to make of this information. Scottish tablet? How unusual!

I wrote back to explain my ignorance of tablet as a food and the producer explained it as a chunkier, grainier version of fudge.

Of course I was intrigued (you had me at fudge!) and I happily agreed to receive a bag for sampling purposes. Check it out below.

We have a winner

If you are new to this blog, you might not know about the post category called Vegan Ice Cream Wars.

Reading these posts will open your eyes to all my frozen dessert adventures, although I mostly showcase store bought items due to a distinct lack of vegan ice cream parlours on the planet.

I don’t think NYC got the memo about vegan ice cream shops not being a thing because they have two (Blythe Ann’s and DF Mavens). I recently visited DF Mavens in the East Village and I walked away an extremely happy FGV.

The feeling of entering a gorgeous shop front and being confronted by a huge, 100% vegan ice cream selection can only be described as joyous. I actually got a bit emotional.

Not vegan

Is this a world first?

I picked up a packet of sweets today, flipped it over and saw the words ‘suitable for vegetarians/vegans’. Great!

I could have stopped there and bought the packet of wickedly wild watermelon candy sticks but being the fussy vegan I am, I scanned the ingredients list.

First red flag? Beeswax. Second? Gelatine.

All the ice cream

Here is a super quick post to let London people know where to find all four flavours of the Almond Dream ice creams.

Waitrose in Richmond. That is where I saw the Velvety Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip and Praline Crunch varieties in one freezer. I have seen individual flavours dotted around but this was my first experience of the entire range in one shop.

20150122_171227Have you seen all four flavours in one spot? Share your sighting in the comments below for other vegan ice cream lovers.

Extra note: the Praline Crunch is the best of the range.
