Vegan spirit drink with pineapple!

I get quite a few gifts from PR people over here at FGV headquarters, but a particular item this week really got me excited.

Check out this fabulous drink called Aloha 65.

Aloha 65 is a spirit drink infused with pineapple, lemon, ginger, and scotch bonnet chilies. That sounds equally intense and delicious.

The product is vegan (labeled as vegan on the bottle), is 27% ABV, and can be ordered directly from the company online for UK delivery.

There is free delivery on orders £25 and over. The company has given me a special discount for FGV readers. Use code FGV20 to get 20% off when you shop directly for Aloha 65 online at their shop.

And what about that little bottle in the photo?

Aloha 65 also make a hot sauce and that is vegan, too!

I am super pumped to try the drink. I’m considering investing in an ice crusher just for this purpose.

Order vegan macaron online

A few years ago, going vegan meant you had to come to the harsh realisation that you would never get to eat some types of food.

But with inventive food creators hard at work to replicate non-vegan delights into more compassionate versions, us plant eaters in 2020 can enjoy treats we long thought were out of reach.

Like macaron!

Macaron is the original cookie sandwich. Traditionally made with egg as a integral ingredient, it was long thought of as a food that would never be recreated successfully for vegan consumers.

People are clever though, so we now have a vegan version of this patisserie favourite that you can order online for UK delivery.

The Adopted Vegan has created a gorgeous product that makes the perfect gift for someone you care about and yes that someone is allowed to be you!

The business sent me a box and I was swept up by the flavours.

Current flavours include:

  • S’mores
  • Apricot Passion Fruit
  • Chocolate caramel
  • Strawberry
  • Rocky Road
  • Red Velvet
  • Pistachio
  • Cookie Dough
  • Chocolate orange
  • Lemon
  • Coconut
  • Chocolate hazelnut

You can head on over to the online shop now and order for UK delivery.

Kebabs at Arancini Brothers

It’s no secret that I adore the food of Arancini Brothers.

The vegan food chain in London are one of the best places to get consistently great (and tasty!) food around the UK capital.

Their arancini-based burgers are exquisite and they serve up what are probably my favourite fries in the country, so I am intrigued by the latest addition to the Arancini Brothers menu.

Say hello to skewer kebabs!

The kebabs are available at the Kentish Town, Dalston, and Maltby Street locations with delivery of the new items on the apps from next week.

Choose from two flavours: Lemon Herb Chick’n or Spicy Chick’n.

Both are served with paprika fries, fresh cut salad, risotto balls, eggplant sauce, and the special Arancini Brothers mayo. A plate with two skewers is priced at £7.95 while three skewers will set you back £9.45.

Yay for kebabs!

Mouse’s Favourite now via Abel & Cole

You all know about legendary vegan cheese brand Mouse’s Favourite, right?

Mouse’s Favourite was founded in West London about four or five years ago and since then they have gone on to win over many hearts and tastebuds. I’ve even had the pleasure of working with the brand at some of my markets.

Their cheeses would always be the first thing shoppers headed for at their market appearances, especially their plant-based take on camembert.

In BIG news for the independent brand, Mouse’s Favourite has just secured a listing with online retailer Abel & Cole.

The cheese’s from Mouse’s Favourite really are top quality. True artisan creations.

And it’s just not vegan cheese coming out of their kitchen either. Mouse’s Favourite has a vegan butter block, also available via Able & Cole.

Head on over to the Abel & Cole website now to check out their Mouse’s Favourite selection and of course all the fresh fruit and vegetables that you can order via a weekly box delivery.

New vegan fast food in Sheffield

Vegans ready to get Saucy in the UK.

Sheffield vegans and the vegan-curious alike are set to enjoy a true taste revolution as plant-based Saucy launches with gourmet fast food delivery in the South Yorkshire city.

Launching on July 31, 2020 Saucy is the new project from the founders of legendary vegan eatery, Make No Bones, and I’m super happy to be working with them to help with promotion.

Saucy co-founder Dave Shaw said of this new fast food concept:

“My dream has always been to feed delicious vegan comfort food to as many people as I can. While our team is busy working hard behind the scenes to get Make No Bones back up and running and serving our loyal customers again, we also wanted to bring another plan to life.

We designed the Saucy menu to appeal directly to the taste buds of decadent burger lovers and people who, just like me, can’t resist a hefty portion of crispy fries.”

Specialty menu items set to impress include the Katsu Burger featuring a fried chicken-style fillet housed in a fresh bun with sesame-infused slaw and Japanese curry sauce.

Freshly cooked fries are available in two sizes, as is the irresistible Japanese-inspired slaw when ordered as a side.

A selection of beef-style burgers sit alongside the line-up of chicken-style burgers, while fans of gourmet dipping sauces will be thrilled to see a wide range of in house sauces available to order separately to take their fries experience to another level.

Saucy is currently serving delivery only via local food app Mealbase, with more options for takeaway and delivery coming soon.
