Gorgeous vegan cake in London

In case you have forgotten, Vx is the super rad vegan grocery shop and boutique in King’s Cross.

Situated just a few minutes on foot from bustling King’s Cross station, Vx has been keeping vegan London stocked up with cheese, meats, shoes, t-shirts, groceries and accessories for years.

It’s been a while since I’ve reported on the happenings over at this old school vegan location so I thought I would drop on over to the Vx Instagram account to grab some cake photos to share with you all.

Check out all the glory they have been serving over the past few days.

It looks like Vx is the place to be for delicious sugary treats.

Get along to support this independent vegan business and stock up on all your vegan needs and, of course, cake.

Vegan ice cream in Bristol and London

You would think being a groundbreaking vegan shop with two locations would be enough, but apparently not. Vx has gone and raised the bar by making and selling their own vegan ice cream.

If you drop by either the new Bristol location or the original Kings Cross store front, you will find a rotating selection of enticing flavours all hand made by the Vx crew.

Recent flavours have included Vego Caramel, Mint Chocolate with vegan After Eight bits, Blueberry Lemon, and Rum Coconut with raisins. All flavours are also gluten free, if that is a concern of yours.

The team are also open to suggestions so make sure you put a word in for you favourite combination when you stop by to pick up a few tubs.

Yay for vegan ice cream!

More Best Vegan Candy in the World

As if I wasn’t losing my mind enough over these things, I got word that more of the best vegan candy in the world is heading to the UK.

My mate Joe in Berlin sent the following photo and I am beside my chubby self with excitement.

You will notice these goodies are made by the producers of the aforementioned No No’s which you can buy currently via Vegan Tuck Box.

Rudy in Vx has let me know he will be stocking all three products very shortly, so keep pestering him on Twitter to find out when they land in London.

Anyone else as excited as me?

North London snacking

Yesterday was a celebration of vegan snack purchases in North London.

Check out four items that floated by plant-based boat north of the River Thames.

The top three were purchased in Bumblebee on Brecknock Road in Kentish Town while the spicy popcorn is from Vx in Kings Cross. Do you like what you see?

I love vegan snacks! Have you seen anything lately you think I should check out? Don’t keep me hanging. Comments below, por favor.

Maple and pecan

The Vegan Ice Cream Wars continue. Night and day I search for worthy contenders but new developments are few and far between in the UK.

We live in somewhat of a vegan ice cream wasteland. We are still waiting for the big breakthrough that will spread decadent tubs of gourmet vegan iced confection across the country.

But it isn’t all doom and gloom, as I found out yesterday.

Can the can

I was talking with my friends at the Cool Chile Co a few days ago about the different brands of seitan available in the UK. Following our chat, I went on a quick exploration of my usual shopping haunts to see if any new wheat meat products had passed me by recently.

And one had. Wheat chunks in a tin!

I am not sure how long this canned seitan product has been available in the UK, but my discovery in Vx last week marked the first occasion I had laid eyes on it.

Sadly, I am yet to taste the Nuvale Vegetarian Cubes as I flew out of London for Mexico City before I could attack the product with a can opener. Have you tried the chunks? What are they like? What is your favourite ready made seitan?
