Win a year’s supply of vegan sweets

This competition is all about the win/win.

By simply taking part, you will be raising funds for an important social enterprise that is helping tackle homelessness in London. And if you win the comp? You get a one year’s supply of vegan pick n mix.

Oh, yes. You actually can’t lose! Well, you might not win the sweets but you get the meaning. You win by helping.

I suppose you want facts now. Well, I’ve got ’em.

Poster Bakes is an online vegan pick n mix shop founded to raise funds in support of The Connection, a social enterprise helping people move away from the streets of London and towards a happier and more fulfilling life.

The price of a single bag of sweets from Poster Bakes could cover the cost of someone receiving a shower, breakfast, and a cup of coffee in The Connection which in turn opens the doors to more in-depth support.

The vegan pick n mix initiative has been incredibly popular and I have a feeling it is about to go into overdrive.

You can enter this competition for a chance to win one year’s supply of vegan pick n mix from Poster Bakes! You just need to buy some sweets and find a golden ticket in your order.

It’s getting all Willy Wonka up in here!

The competition starts Monday 14th June, 2021 and will be running for a few weeks until Poster Bakes have sent out all their golden tickets tickets.

They will be randomly giving away 5 golden tickets in total, each of which will entitle the winner to a year’s supply of free sweets (a 500g bag every month for 12 months). Winners will be chosen at random from those who have entered the giveaway. This is what you need to do:

I’d love to know if you entered and I’d love to know if you win. Don’t forget who hooked you up with this info if you are suddenly swamped with vegan pick n mix.

Win a vegan pin

London, do you like winning things?

I am teaming up with legendary vegan fried chicken business Temple of Seitan to give away 50 pins.

This couldn’t be more vegan. Fat Gay Vegan is giving away 50 Temple of Seitan pins and the pins read ‘VEGAN’.

All the vegan you could want.

Isn’t that cute? Do you want to know how you can get one for free?

I will be on site at the opening of the new Temple of Seitan location on Acre Lane, Brixton this Saturday June 5, 2021 between 12pm and 4pm.

If you see me there, walk up to me and show me that you follow Temple of Seitan on Instagram and I will give you a pin. It is that simple. You don’t have to follow me as well but that would be a nice gesture!

Follow Temple of Seitan on Instagram (click here). Say hello to FGV. Get a ‘VEGAN’ pin.

Click here to see the exact location of Temple of Seitan Brixton thanks to Google Maps.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: one pin per person, no purchase necessary. These pins are available on a first-come basis. If you show up at 3pm and they are all gone, I cannot be held accountable. I will still say hello but I won’t be able to give you a pin if they are all gone.

Win Follow Your Heart Products with FGV

What would you say if I told you I want to give you four bottles of the creamiest, most-delicious vegan salad dressings on the market?

And what would you say about getting these bottles, made by one of the longest-lasting and best vegan companies on the planet, for free?

Fat Gay Vegan (that’s me!) has teamed up with Follow Your Heart to give one lucky person a delivery of four of the most sought-after vegan products in the UK.

But before I tell you what you can win and how you can win it, let me tell you a little bit about Follow Your Heart.

Follow Your Heart began in 1970 when founders Michael, Bob, Paul, and Spencer opened a seven-seat soup, salad, and sandwich counter in the back of a small natural food store in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California.

What followed has been nothing short of a runaway success story that now sees a huge range of Follow Your Heart vegan products sold in countries all over the globe. These products include plant-based cheeses and the legendary Vegenaise, the mayo alternative that paved the way for countless imitators.

In 2020, Follow Your Heart is a vibrant, ethical company invested in looking after the people working with them, while they also fight the good fight for animals and the environment.

They are decent people making amazing vegan products!

OK. Enough of the love fest. On with the winning.

One winner will be randomly chosen to receive a delivery of the following salad dressings:

  • High Omega Vegan Bleu Cheese Dressing
  • High Omega Vegan Ranch Salad Dressing
  • Vegan Honey Mustard Salad Dressing
  • Organic Vegan Caesar Salad Dressing

These salad dressings are versatile and perfect for any time of the year. Dress your favourite greens or salads, drizzle over roast potatoes, or even use them as a dip for your favourite vegan wings or nuggets.

How can you win? Simple.

That’s it. One follower will be chosen at random to receive a delivery of the salad dressings.

The competition will close at midnight UK time on Monday October 19, 2020. Winner must be UK mainland resident. I’ll contact the winner and Follow Your Heart will arrange delivery of the prize.

Get following and hopefully get winning.

You can buy Follow Your Heart dressings in the UK at The Vegan Kind Supermarket, Alternative Stores, Whole Foods Market, Planet Organic and various independent health food stores.

Now it’s competition time!

The kind people at Heaven + Hellthy want to ship a cookie making box to one FGV reader. This is how we are going to run the comp:

  • Write a tweet tagging both @FatGayVegan and @heavennhellthy
  • Use #WinWithFGV
  • Include ‘Cookies = ?’ but replace the ‘?’ with one word. For example, your tweet might look like this – #WinWithFGV Cookies = happiness @FatGayVegan @heavennhellthy

This isn’t a complicated comp and I’ll be picking the winner based on what makes me smile.

The Twitter comp will run until midnight Sunday August 7, 2016 UK time. I will contact the winner to ask for delivery details that will be passed on to Heaven + Hellthy.

Enter as many times as you like. Get busy!

Fundraising update

As you have probably seen online, I have teamed up with Fry’s Family Foods in order to raise money for vegan-run Hugletts Wood Farm Animal Sanctuary.

The campaign is off to a flying start. Check out the video update below for the latest news on the campaign.

I am thrilled we have already raised £1000 but we still have a long way to go. Hugglets urgently need funds to restore all of the fencing around their property, as well as install new security cameras to keep the rescued animals safe.

Please donate now and share this news widely.

Guide to Paris

Paris is famous for a lot of things. The Eiffel Tower. Louvre. Notre-Dame. Arc de Triomphe. I could go on and on and on. The city is packed solid with world-famous landmarks and attractions.

Paris has been referred to as the most visited city on the planet and it is believed the area welcomes in excess of 30 million visitors each year. It is a destination that has been celebrated in countless films, books and songs.

2014 has seen the city come into another kind of renown as veganism has seemingly swept all before it to make Paris one of the must-visit hot spots for compassionate tourists.

This explosion in plant-based eating has been painstakingly documented in the brand new Vegetarian Paris – The complete insider’s guide to the best veggie food in Paris.

Compiled and written by Aurelia d’Andrea, this compact book is the perfect guide for vegan travellers. It contains maps, shopping information, event listings, colour coded vegan listings of almost 20 establishments, dozens of vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurants and cafes, transport information, accommodation tips and even a handy basic language and phrase guide.

The book is small enough to be taken out for a day of sightseeing and packed with enough useful information to make you glad you did.

You can buy your own copy of Vegetarian Paris online here or read on for a chance to win a copy.

I adore Chloe Coscarelli.

Chloe brings an irresistible and infectious love for tasty vegan food to the world. She appears so profoundly happy to be cooking and eating vegan food, I’m sure it makes non-vegans more than a little willing to see what all the fuss is about.

Chloe is an example of that rare vegan who can effortlessly cross over to the mainstream with her nutritious and delicious food ideas and then return to the land of plant eaters with a huge group of newly-converted compassionate friends happily following along. She is like the Pied Piper of cruelty-free cuisine.

The recently released Chloe’s Vegan Italian Kitchen follows this stylish, accessible and convincing approach to spreading vegan food joy.

Cool rider

I make no secret of how much I adore the Cool Chile Co. This London based business is my main supplier of essential ingredients needed to get my Mexican food fix.

They sell it all. Kits that take the mystery out of cooking the perfect black bean dish. Chiles that are chopped, diced, dried and powdered. Spicy chipotle ketchup. Sweet salsa verde. Their enormous tortilla machine churns out thousands of the soft, round things every week (I wrote about the machine here). They even have a chorizo spice kit that comes with instructions explaining how you can use a meat substitute if you like. I love it!

But something makes the Cool Chile Co. extra special. The people who run it.

Director Dodi and General Manager Kelly are some of the most down-to-earth, unassuming and outright friendly people I have met in London. Even if their Mexican products weren’t the best in the country (which they are by a mile), I would still want them to be a roaring success because of what decent people they are.

It makes it all the more enjoyable to announce that I am partnering with the Cool Chile Co. for my huge vegan Mexican dinner taking place this week. Dodi and Kelly are getting behind UNA CITA by making sure we have the freshest tortillas in the country to make my three taco plate a dish you do not want to miss.

Cool Chile Co make this possible

As a thank you to the company for coming on board with my event, I am giving them a pair of tickets for UNA CITA to give away to one fortunate Twitter follower. You need to follow them and retweet THIS tweet to be in with a chance to snap up the tickets for this Friday’s event.

Love Cool Chile Co. and be in with a chance to win!

Limited tickets for UNA CITA also available to buy here.

Win tickets for VegFest

I love a good giveaway. Don’t you? Of course, some giveaways are superior to others and the prize up for grabs in this competition is definitely at the higher end of the scale.

VegfestUKBristol2014PosterFinal2

You know all about VegFestUK. You are aware the Bristol chapter of this vegan lifestyle, food, education and music extravaganza has been a much loved event for over a decade. You know it is the biggest vegan show of its kind in Europe. Of course you are aware that people travel from all over the UK, Europe and the planet to attend. There isn’t a person reading this who isn’t already aware they can visit the official VegFestUK website here for all show information. I probably don’t need to tell you the event this year is spread across May 23, 24 and 25, 2014.

I won’t bore you with what you already know. Instead, here is some new information to arouse your interest.

COMPETITION

VegFestUK Bristol organisers are generously giving me the opportunity to gift two pairs of tickets to the Friday and Saturday night concerts taking place as part of this year’s event. That’s right. One lucky winner will score two tickets to the Friday night gig and two tickets to the Saturday night gig.

That’s a fab prize. Check out the talent the winner will be experiencing.

Friday May 23, 2014

VegFest UK is throwing a huge disco party featuring the Bristol Samba Band, ABBA Gold tribute band, the legendary Boney M feat. Maizie Williams and Gwen Dickey’s Rose Royce. There will also be musical action from DJ act Just a Couple of Mums.

Saturday May 24, 2014

VegFestUK goes punk on the Saturday night with live sets from Goldblade fronted by the awesome John Robb, Ruts DC and Peter Hook and the Light.

Here is how you can enter to win a pair of tickets for both nights.

Comment below telling me about your favourite musical act. Make it funny and interesting. Share tales of concert experiences, first records, obsessions gone wrong or anything related to your musical pick. Your favourite band, singer or performer does not have to be appearing at VegFestUK in order to mention them.

It is that simple. The competition will close midnight April 30, 2014. I will pick a winner based on how amusing/engaging the entry is but I’m sorry to say I can’t choose someone I work with or am friendly with already. The tickets will be sent to the winner via post from VegFestUK organisers. You will need to leave a way for me to contact you in the instance you are the winner. A link to your Twitter account would be fine.
