Pitfield list

Pitfield has been with London Vegan Beer Fest since the beginning and I’m super happy to have them back again in 2015.

This brewery is a staple of vegan events and festivals all over the country, so it makes perfect sense for them to be one of the star attractions at our little ol’ beer fest in King’s Cross this weekend.

Check out this list of pours on offer from Pitfield Brewery this Saturday at London Vegan Beer Fest:

Best move

Do you remember when I flipped out about CookDaily having the best vegan food in London.

Sure, you do. I even swore. Check out the blog post here.

It seems you can’t keep fabulous food down because CookDaily is set to open location in addition to the pop-up they have in Boxpark Shoreditch.

Check out this interview excerpt in which King talks about where he is taking his scrumptious food creations next:

Just delicious

Did you all get along to the mega Just V Show in London Olympia last weekend?

If you didn’t, the following photo collection documents some of the goodness you missed out on.

If you did make it, I’d love for you to tell me what vegan goodies I missed as I scuttled around the venue.

Vegan Rotterdam

Post  by:

I’m going to take a brief break from Berlin this week, and tell you about a unique vegan restaurant called Gare du Nord. Despite the name, it’s not in Paris but actually in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and we visited in November last year.

Well, the restaurant does have a strange link to Berlin actually. One of my specialist subjects is the former East Germany. For anyone interested in recent history, what happened in this part of the world during the 45 years after the war is fascinating.

Team fox

In case you didn’t know, the Prime Minister is leading the charge to relax laws governing fox hunting.

Read this and feel outraged.

The vote to relax these laws which will allow the widespread harassment and murder of foxes is happening within days.

It is CRUCIAL that you contact your MP and demand that they vote against any such relaxation of hunting laws.

You can visit one of the following websites that will help you contact your MP:

PeTA UK

Animal Aid

League Against Cruel Sports

Viva! Campaigns

We must work together to stop the Hunting Act from being repealed or relaxed.

I know we get asked to sign a lot of petitions and take a lot of action over the Internet and it is easy to feel swamped by information.

But I implore you to click on one of the above links and take 5 to 10 minutes out of your day to send a loud and clear message to your MP.

We need to protect foxes from cruel hunts.

Beer frenzy

One of the most enjoyable things to happen to me in a long time happened a few nights ago.

I was invited to a vegan beer tasting event and talk.

Check it out.

byron and unionThe friendly people from And Union invited me along to a night they were hosting in a West London pub. It was an informal mix of journalists and business acquaintances, but the real focus was the beer and there certainly was a lot of the good stuff to get through.
