Here is a super quick post to let you know of a new product I sank my teeth into this week.
These are tasty.
That is all.
London vegan news, reviews & events
Dear everyone.
This is the best dessert in the history of desserts.

One of the biggest coffee chains in the UK has started selling a vegan sweet treat just in time for Christmas.
Check it out below!
My 4th annual vegan Day of the Dead party on Sunday was incredible. From the food to the guests to the atmosphere, the event was outstanding fun.
One of the most-loved dishes served up by Chef Julio (and his helpers Carlos and Josh) was the decadent dessert. This final plate of the night broke sweetness records and pushed the boundaries of sugar decency.
Check it out:
What do you think?
The plate featured a gooey chocolate brownie in a sea of choc fudge sauce, topped with vanilla frozen yogurt dusted with a mix of chile, hibiscus, salt and sugar.
I want to give a massive shout out to Coconut Collaborative for the vanilla frozen yogurt alternative. The company furnished our party with a mammoth freezer bag of the good stuff.
You can buy all of their flavours in most major supermarkets and independent health food stores. My favourite is the chocolate version but this vanilla was perfectly suited to the brownie dish.
Beer.
One word, so many possibilities.
It would be an understatement to say craft beer has exploded across London and the UK over the past few years. The march of craft beer across the country is unstoppable and if the popularity of London Vegan Beer Fest is any indication, vegans want to be part of the brew revolution just as much as everyone else.
One of the most exciting developments for craft beer enthusiasts is the opening of specialist retailers, such as We Brought Beer.
After a runaway start with their Balham location, WBB have now launched a new store front in Clapham and the venue looks absolutely gorgeous.
Check out the photos below.
As I was taking a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Thames earlier today, my chubby eyes spotted this enticing chalkboard:
Oh yes. ‘More vegan friendly options’ chalked across the bottom of the a-frame!
This sign was perched outside The Old Ship W6 in Hammersmith. I’ve written of the pub’s vegan-friendly nature in the past (here and here) and they have tweeted me on several occasions to highlight their vegan beer selection.
Get along over the next few weeks to try the new Autumn menu items that include this gorgeous apple crumble with almond milk custard. How good does that look?!
Get eating, London!
The people over at PeTA just gave me some interesting news that I thought I should share with you right now.
Gauthier Soho is an exclusive restaurant with dining rooms spread across three floors of a Regency townhouse in Central London. The expensive eatery is the recipient of multiple awards and commendations, including being rated at number 4 in the ZAGAT guide for best food in London.
Up until now, Gauthier Soho hasn’t been particularly focussed on vegan cuisine but that is all about to change this month as the restaurant launches a special plant-based menu for World Vegan Month.
Keep reading below to see the intricate vegan tasting menu available in Gauthier Soho this November.

My dear friend Mirel sent me the following photo this morning (get ready to pat your tummy and lick your lips):
Have you seen this vegan roast in your nearest Tesco yet? Have you eaten it?
I can’t wait until I get my chubby mittens on it!
London vegetarian restaurant tibits has made quite a few vegans happy by making their food buffet completely vegan after 11:30am until closing every Tuesday.
The popular restaurant just off Regent Street in Central London must be seeing the benefits of this change as they are repeating the vegan takeover across both days of this weekend (Oct 31/Nov 1, 2015).
Check out this statement from the tibits website:
HALLOWEEN AND WORLD VEGAN DAY (31 OCT AND 1 NOV)
It’s the start of the party season and to celebrate we’re going Vegan for Halloween and World Vegan Day*. We’d love you to join us for a weekend of feasting and celebration!
If you’re gearing up for a night of ghouls, ghosts, and Halloween parties, tibits is the perfect spot – there’s undoubtedly something on the food boat that you’ll enjoy sinking your fangs into.
And the following day is World Vegan Day, and the start to World Vegan Month. It’s a great opportunity for the already vegan and the vegan curious to gather and have some fun.
*from 11.30 am
Anyone heading down to tibits to eat vegan this weekend?
Let’s hope this is a sign that tibits plan to switch to being a full time vegan restaurant in the near future. It is LONG overdue.
This isn’t the most exciting sandwich news you will hear this week, but I do think it is cause to celebrate whenever a massive company decides to use the ‘v’ word so noticeably.
Check out the new falafel and houmous wrap being sold by Caffe Nero around the UK. I spotted this display in their Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 outlet.
It is certainly not going to win any innovation awards, but it is fab seeing ‘vegan’ on display in a chain store with approximately 600 locations around the country.
Have you tried this wrap? What is your verdict?
