We have a winner
If you are new to this blog, you might not know about the post category called Vegan Ice Cream Wars.
Reading these posts will open your eyes to all my frozen dessert adventures, although I mostly showcase store bought items due to a distinct lack of vegan ice cream parlours on the planet.
I don’t think NYC got the memo about vegan ice cream shops not being a thing because they have two (Blythe Ann’s and DF Mavens). I recently visited DF Mavens in the East Village and I walked away an extremely happy FGV.
The feeling of entering a gorgeous shop front and being confronted by a huge, 100% vegan ice cream selection can only be described as joyous. I actually got a bit emotional.
All the ice cream
Here is a super quick post to let London people know where to find all four flavours of the Almond Dream ice creams.
Waitrose in Richmond. That is where I saw the Velvety Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip and Praline Crunch varieties in one freezer. I have seen individual flavours dotted around but this was my first experience of the entire range in one shop.

Order ice cream
The Vegan Ice Cream Wars have just launched into cyberspace.
Vegans are still celebrating the arrival of Almond Dream ice creams into Waitrose stores around the country, but not all outlets stock all four available flavours. As a matter of fact, a lot of their stores don’t have any.
Thankfully, it’s 2015 and we have the Internet.
Lots of ice cream
It has been a bit quiet on the Vegan Ice Cream Wars front. Not much to report back from the trenches.
Quiet, that is, until I stumbled into Waitrose in White City Westfield today.
When you shop in a mainstream grocery store in the UK, you usually find just one brand of vegan ice cream (or two if you are fortunate). My experiences as a vegan consumer have left me disappointed by the freezer section of most supermarkets.
This is what makes the ice cream freezer at the White City Waitrose so impressive.
I didn’t see one brand. Or two. Or three. I saw four brands of vegan ice cream or frozen desserts. This sighting was also impressive as each brand featured had at least two flavours available.

Vegan frozen yoghurt
Slowly, the UK is getting its act together in the frozen dessert department. You all saw the recent post about the new Almond Dream ice cream and now the friendly people of Coconut Collaborative have come on board with their frozen vegan yoghurts.
I recently picked up a tub of their Raspberry Snowconut and enjoyed myself. Creamy and sweet, but not outstanding. It is the type of frozen treat I would indulge in when I can’t get my hands on one of my favourite brands but have a hankering.
Ice cream massacre
Forget all about our quaint Vegan Ice Cream Wars involving bland vanilla and reserved raspberry. Shit just got serious and vegans are rushing all over the UK to find these new flavours by Almond Dream.
It appears these tubs of frozen goodness only started appearing a few days ago in selected Waitrose freezers and already we might have a shortage on our hands.
