New vegan drumsticks for the UK

BIG NEWS!

Like Meat have just released their Like Mini Drumsticks in the UK and they sponsored me to share news with you.

Now available in Tesco stores, these crunchy delights are soya based and, just like all Like Meat products, gluten free. What I love about products like this (apart from deliciousness) is how versatile they are. You can eat them on their own, in a wrap, or as the star of a tasty dinner plate.

Last night my partner served them with rice and tangy, stir-fried vegetables.

You can fry or oven bake the new Like Mini Drumsticks. The recommended retail price is £3.

Eat up!

You can see the full Like Meat range on their website and be sure to follow them on Instagram.

Vegan brioche buns in major UK supermarket

The future is here and it tastes like brioche.

Superstar vegan eatery Make No Bones of Sheffield has been collaborating with local bakery Fletchers to design the perfect vegan brioche.

And guess what? They have done it!

Don’t they look sensational?!

I asked Lauren from Make No Bones to give me a brief comment on the brioche launch and she said:

From our point of view, we are dead excited that there is a demand for vegan brioche and how far the accessibility of vegan food has come!

The Make No Bones vegan brioche buns launched in 400 Tesco stores today (January 27, 2020). I haven’t seen a store list yet but I have heard that they are mostly in Tesco Extra locations.

Smokehouse vegan ribs in the UK and Ireland

Oumph! are launching their new plant-based Sticky Smokehouse Oumph! into select Tesco stores, in the United Kingdom and Tesco Ireland, this month.

BREAKING NEWS: New vegan pizza hits the UK

BREAKING NEWS

Oumph! are launching their plant-based frozen Italian Style pizza in 179 Tesco stores in the UK from September 16, 2018.

The Oumph! Italian Style pizza is inspired by Italy with semi-dried tomatoes, rocket, thyme and garlic seasoned Oumph!, and organic plant-based cheese. The pizza base is hand-stretched and baked in a wood-fired brick oven.

“At Food for Progress we believe in mouth-watering food that is kinder to the environment”, says Anna-Kajsa Lidell, Co-founder & Head of Progress Strategy. “With our pizza we hope to reach new consumer groups beyond the core vegan and vegetarian fan base”.

Lidell continues:

“There is an increasing demand for plant-based options. With all due respect to slow-cooking, often we just don’t have time to cook. This is when we need good, fast food that tastes great – like the Oumph! pizza!”

The Oumph! Italian Style pizza is already a huge success in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. In some stores the success was unexpected and the pizza sold out within a couple of days!

Preparing the Oumph! pizza will be simple. Place the frozen pizza directly from the freezer (unwrapped) on a baking tray in the middle of a preheated oven (Electric 220 °C/Hot Air 200 °C/Gas Mark 6) for 7-9 minutes. Done!

The Oumph! Italian Style Pizza is launched in 179 Tesco stores from 16th of September, where you’ll find it in the freezer section. The 400 g pizza costs £3.99.

Also on 16th of September, Tesco will launch the Oumph! Salty & Smoky, alongside current Oumph! products in Tesco’s frozen section; Pulled Oumph!, Oumph! Kebab Spiced and Oumph! The Chunk. RSP £3.49 per pack (280 g).

Oumph! Salty & Smoky – With its salty, smoky and slightly sweet taste Oumph! Salty & Smoky is a perfect partner for brunch, served with American pancakes, or in a bagel. Try it with a full English breakfast, or in an Oumph! ‘O.L.T.’

A vegan shopping trip to Tesco

I’ve been away from the UK for a while.

Well, actually it has been more than a while. I’ve been in Mexico City for six months.

During my absence, it appears that vegan options in UK supermarkets have simply exploded in popularity and availability.

I popped into my local Tesco Extra earlier today and was completely blown away by the enormous range of vegan products lining the shelves.

Check out just some of the dozens and dozens of new vegan groceries I saw.

Vegan meat in Tesco

Superstar vegan meat brand Oumph from Sweden has finally secured a huge retail deal in the UK and us plant-eaters are celebrating.

You’ll need to check back here later this week for finer details but what I know for the moment is that Oumph will be available in 400 Tesco stores around the UK.

This is gigantic news.

This is one of the finest vegan meat products on the market.

I was fortunate to attend the UK launch last year and was blown away by the versatile nature of the food.

Follow Oumph on Instagram to stay updated on the Tesco news and get ready for some good eating. See the full Oumph range online.

New vegan sandwich

A new vegan sandwich has been launched by Tesco and it sounds interesting.

We are so overloaded with falafel and humous sandwiches in the UK, anything slightly unique is a call for celebration.

Check it out.

Bubble and squeak fritter with spiced red cabbage!

This isn’t the most affordable snack at £3.50 but with over 3,000 stores around the UK, there is something to be said about the convenience of this item.

Extra note: I believe that when we shop with independent, local business it is better for our communities. This is not to shame people who have little choice in their area or who are dependent on stores such as Tesco, I simply think it matters to counter a post about Tesco by reminding all of us about ethical shopping.

Vegan Xmas treats at Tesco

Here is a super short post about something I saw in Tesco today.

If you celebrate Christmas and shop at places such as Tesco, you can pick up this vegan chocolate selection box for yourself or a friend. I saw them in the special ‘seasonal items’ aisle (and not in the free from section) of the Tesco Extra in Osterley, London.

What do you think?

Will this be one of your stocking stuffers this festive season?
