The time has come to say goodbye to London Vegan Social.
This monthly event has been part of my life for about four years, but in truth, it was the continuation of something I’ve been doing for more than a decade. From the early days of London Vegan Drinks and London Vegan Potluck right through to the present, these gatherings have been a huge part of my life. They’ve been places where friendships were formed, collaborations were born, and where kindness was always on the menu.

You can order my book ‘Fat Gay Vegan: Eat, Drink and Live Like You Give a Sh!t’ online now. It has been out a while now but is still a good read. You can also listen to the Audiobook read by me!
There is a lot going on in London and we are never short of interesting and unique things to do.
With that said, this news about a classic animal-friendly Hollywood blockbuster screening coupled with live music and karaoke is surprising even by London standards!
For much more than a decade now, London Vegan Social has been bringing people together.
It has run under different names over the years, but the heart of it has always stayed the same. In a world that seems more determined than ever to keep us isolated, I try to make a little pocket of safety, laughter, and connection once a month.
This inclusive and welcoming event is back at Karamel in Wood Green on Saturday 26 July 2025 and it’s shaping up to be a cracker. Entry is free, so the only thing you need to bring is your sparkling personality and perhaps a working knowledge of karaoke classics.
Not a thing. Nada. Zilch. I sat down in front of my laptop, stared at the screen for a bit, drank a cup of tea, stared at the screen some more, and then admitted the obvious. No inspiration. Not a single crumb of content. But here we are. You’re reading this. I’m typing this. We’re both involved now, so let’s make the best of it.
I’ve enjoyed the opportunities I’ve had to work with many compassionate and creative vegan businesses over the past 15 years. Being able to merge my love for vegan food, community, and activism into meaningful collaborations has felt like a true privilege.
