Many, many years ago I wrote a blog post about CookDaily being the best food in London.
A decade on from that and guess what? Head chef King is still serving the finest vegan food in the capital but now in a different location.

I first ate with CookDaily when they were located in Boxpark right next door to the Overground station in Shoreditch. People would come from all over the city for this food and it was considered by many to be the best plant-based cuisine in the capital. The pad Thai was actually a celebrity in its own right.
King took some time off and then moved to another location for a while, meaning I kind of lost track of what he was up to. The period from 2020 onwards seems like a blur, to be fair.
But it’s 2026 and King has a new permanent home for CookDaily from which he has been serving for the past two months.
You’ll now find his kitchen inside Boxhall food and bar venue on Liverpool Street, directly opposite the station entrance.
During my visit yesterday, I ordered the Kop-Jai bowl and I can’t be dramatic enough about what I ate. This food was freaking sensational.
My bowl was packed with Tom Yum fried rice with crispy fried vegan chick’n cutlet dressed with sticky caramelised soy glaze, sesame seeds, and spring onions. It was completed with spring rolls, sweet and sour sauce, and a poppadom.
This was all cooked fresh by King after I ordered. No shortcuts, just expertly crafted vegan food that tasted even better than it looked.
I strongly recommend you get along to try this food soon.
