Vegan Snacks on a Plane

I’m getting ready to take a couple of VERY long flights this week and, as a vegan of many years, I understand that my emergency snack game has to be on point.

Take a look below at everything packed in my carry on bag.

In flight food has come a hell of a long way during the almost 30 years I’ve been vegan, but I still live in fear of my special meal being forgotten or messed up.

My trip this week finds me making the 14 hour trip from London to Tokyo and then, a few days later, the 9 hour flight from Tokyo to Brisbane. For some reason, I get panicked by the thought of being stuck on a flight with nothing vegan to eat even though I’d most certainly survive on peanuts and water.

There is also a slim chance that my flight gets delayed, leaving me with no meal. It sounds oversensitive and paranoid to a degree, but gathering snacks for the journey as a precaution has long been a part of my pre-flight routine. It makes me feel calmer.

This week, I’ve pooled together the following:

  • Maynards Bassetts Fizzy Fish Jellies
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Huel bar
  • Chocolate Fudge Brownie Huel bar
  • Candy Kittens Salted Peanuts covered in chocolate
  • Nakd Apple and Cinnamon bar
  • Dark Chocolate Pretzel with Sea Salt NuGo bar
  • Dark Mint Chocolate NuGo bar
  • Jakemans Throat and Chest lozenges

A lot of the above is to help stave off boredom on these really long flights. Some of it is legitimate emergency sustenance. And the lozenges are good for stopping queasiness caused by turbulence.

What do you think? Do you freak out like this when you travel and pack too much?
