Glasgow impresses again

Honestly, you could eat out every day and night of the week in Glasgow and you wouldn’t run out of vegan options.

I’ve written about The 78 in the past, but check out the latest tasty dishes my group devoured during our recent stop. This fabulous pub/restaurant is definitely something you want to experience.

The Vegan Kind

One of the biggest joys of being on the Vegan Roadshow is meeting all of the people who come out to listen to the bands and chat with Animal Equality.

The Glasgow stop of the tour brought an extra special (and generous) guest in the form of Karris, the founder of the subscription box service The Vegan Kind.

Not only did Karris buy a ticket to the show, support Animal Equality with donations and listen appreciatively to every piece of music played by our performers, she also gifted everyone on the roadshow with one of her lovely subscription boxes.

Check out what we got!

Glasgow food frenzy

As my Vegan Roadshow rounds the halfway point, we are getting ready to depart Glasgow and head to Liverpool.

I wanted to take two minutes out of my day before we set off down the motorway to show you a few photos of the vegan food I have been devouring in Glasgow these past few days.

Brewed soda

One of my favourite things I consumed this year was not fried, baked or boiled.

It was brewed.

Mono is just one of the many, many locations in Glasgow packed with vegan options. The delicious-looking food menu is 100% vegan but it wasn’t what I ate that left me with fond memories of Mono.

It was a drink.

13th Note Glasgow

I am slowly working my way through reporting back to you on the vegan wonders of Glasgow. I can see why it has often been named ‘Best vegan UK city’. The place is absolutely heaving with vegan-friendly eateries.

Take The 13th Note as one example.

This vegetarian cafe is primarily a live music venue, but food certainly doesn’t take a back seat.  My group ate extremely well as you will notice from the photos below.

Vegan pub food

Glasgow has got the goods for vegans. You can’t walk a few blocks without stumbling upon a vegan-friendly eatery or bar in the city centre.

Of course the plant-based eating isn’t just confined to the town centre and a short bus ride or taxi fare will deliver you to the most wonderful venue with a 100% vegan food menu.

Check it out!

Birds and bees

I am sitting on a cosy train, being whisked past mist covered rolling hills as I leave Scotland behind me and return to London.

I have many happy Glasgow memories in my head jostling for blog space, but I have decided to let a delicious Scottish beer take the limelight today.

All vegan. Maybe.

To many people, I imagine this post is going to sound like a moaning vegan going too far but this topic has been playing on my mind for a while.

Why do people refer to a vegan restaurant as 100% vegan when it stocks and sells non-vegan alcohol?

I know I won’t be leaving here

Josh has taken on guest reviewer duties once again following a recent trip to Glasgow. Take it away…

I am seriously impressed by Glasgow and it’s hard to know where to start.

When I found out that my job was taking me to Glasgow for four days, I immediately looked to HappyCow and was delighted to see that there was not one, not two… but FOUR completely vegan eateries located in the city plus several vegetarian places.  How could I possibly fit them all in?  Apologies in advance for the dodgy phone-photos.
