Vegan option in a German beer hall

A friendly Twitter follower named Marie-Anne just gave me a tip that quite a few people will be interested in.

There is a Bavarian-styled pub and restaurant in London with vegan food on the menu. Check out these options:

NÜRNBERGER BRATVÜRST’L £5.90
Starter – Three grilled vegan sausages served with Sauerkraut and a pretzel

CURRYVURST MIT POMMES £7.90
Snack – Grilled sausage served with curry sauce and chips

BAVARIAN BEERHOUSE ‘VURSTPLATTE’ SPEZIAL £13.50
Main – Special Bavarian Beerhouse sausage platter: ‘BratVurst, spicy Merguez and ‘Wiener’ sausages served with Sauerkraut and chips

That grilled sausage dish with curry sauce and chips is the sort of thing I write poems about. It sounds incredible.

The staff at Bavarian Beerhouse certainly look the stereotypical part.

UK brewery announces vegan label

One of the fastest-growing beer companies in the UK has recently announced it will start labelling its vegan-suitable brews with The Vegan Society trademark.

To call BrewDog a runaway success would be a severe understatement. Since the business opened its first bar in 2010, it has expanded at breakneck speed and now has thirty retail outlets and bars across the UK.

Add another 14 international outlets to the mix and even more openings in the pipeline, it is clear that BrewDog has firmly established itself as boozy force with which to be reckoned. Heck, even the beer specialist on my street here in Mexico City stocks BrewDog!

It is exciting to see such a successful enterprise take veganism seriously and with BrewDog announcing it will start including The Vegan Society trademark on their bottles and tap handles, the job of compassionate drinkers and shoppers all over the world just got that little bit easier.

Click here to see if a BrewDog shop or bar is near you and look out for the newly-labelled bottles in supermarkets and beer retailers everywhere.

Now, if they could just get rid of the three non-vegan beers in their line-up (Jet Black Heart, Dogma and Electric India), I’d invest in their Equity for Punks scheme in a heartbeat.

Drink FGV

This is my favourite piece of news I have shared in a long time.

I’m thrilled to let you know I am making my very own beer!

The brew is being made and sold in conjunction with Dominion Brewery Company, which is also responsible for the incredibly popular Pitfield range of vegan beers.

Andy, head brewer and owner of Dominion, has helped me bring my ideas to life and we recently held a tasting workshop during which we fine tuned the flavours.

The FGV beer will be exclusively launched at London Vegan Beer Fest in July and will be available to attendees of Manchester Vegan Beer Fest and Glasgow Vegan Beer Fest later in the year.

You can follow Vegan Beer Fest UK on Facebook and Twitter to be the first to know about tickets and dates for these three huge events in 2016.

Following on from the beer fests, the FGV beer will be available to buy online and in independent beer shops, vegan retailers and selected bars.

Vegan Beer Fest UK

Hold on to your pint glasses, people. News doesn’t come bigger than this.

Following on from the meteoric rise in popularity of London Vegan Beer Fest which resulted in 1000 guests enjoying the 2015 event, I am thrilled to announce I will be taking the event around the UK in 2016.

Of course London Vegan Beer Fest will be back for a 4th year this July, but I will also be staging the event in Manchester and Glasgow.

The Manchester and Glasgow events will have everything that is adored about the London event, but also unique twists to suit the city we are in. That means attendees will be able to get hold of branded pint cups/glasses, beer tick sheets, exclusive merchandise, and close to 100 different vegan beers from around the country, as well as gorgeous vegan food cooked up by local food vendors and restaurants.

While final details will follow soon, I can tell you Glasgow Vegan Beer Fest will take place in August 2016 while Manchester Vegan Beer Fest will roll out in September.

You can follow the official Vegan Beer Fest UK Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. This is where you will get breaking news about dates, venues and tickets.

Beer.

One word, so many possibilities.

It would be an understatement to say craft beer has exploded across London and the UK over the past few years. The march of craft beer across the country is unstoppable and if the popularity of London Vegan Beer Fest is any indication, vegans want to be part of the brew revolution just as much as everyone else.

One of the most exciting developments for craft beer enthusiasts is the opening of specialist retailers, such as We Brought Beer.

After a runaway start with their Balham location, WBB have now launched a new store front in Clapham and the venue looks absolutely gorgeous.
