Tibits gets a new location

One of London’s top spots when it comes to vegan-friendly eating in a non-vegan spot is tibits.

This buffet-style eatery just off Regent Street has long been a hub for plant-based eaters. This might have something to do with most of their food being suitable for vegans, including delights such as sticky toffee pudding and a huge range of salads and pastas.

This month sees the opening of a second London version of tibits (if we don’t count the west London version that came and went very quickly years ago).

Fans of the serve-yourself restaurant can know fill up on their vegan options near the Tate Modern on the south side of the Thames.

The maps above shows the new location set to open this month (June 2017).

You can see all of the tibits locations over on their website, including the multiple restaurants spread around Switzerland.

Are you excited about another tibits?

Follow tibits on Facebook to stay updated on the opening.

Vegan buffet

London vegetarian restaurant tibits has made quite a few vegans happy by making their food buffet completely vegan after 11:30am until closing every Tuesday.

The popular restaurant just off Regent Street in Central London must be seeing the benefits of this change as they are repeating the vegan takeover across both days of this weekend (Oct 31/Nov 1, 2015).

Check out this statement from the tibits website:

HALLOWEEN AND WORLD VEGAN DAY (31 OCT AND 1 NOV)

It’s the start of the party season and to celebrate we’re going Vegan for Halloween and World Vegan Day*. We’d love you to join us for a weekend of feasting and celebration!

If you’re gearing up for a night of ghouls, ghosts, and Halloween parties, tibits is the perfect spot – there’s undoubtedly something on the food boat that you’ll enjoy sinking your fangs into.

And the following day is World Vegan Day, and the start to World Vegan Month. It’s a great opportunity for the already vegan and the vegan curious to gather and have some fun.

Anyone heading down to tibits to eat vegan this weekend?

Let’s hope this is a sign that tibits plan to switch to being a full time vegan restaurant in the near future. It is LONG overdue.

New vegan cookbook

You all know tibits, right?

This central London restaurant and bar has for many years been a favourite haunt of compassionate diners, especially since they have made every Tuesday ‘vegan day’ on their self service food boat.

The vegetarian restaurant appears to exploring the vegan angle more and more these days, with the latest big news being the release of a 100% vegan recipe collection called Vegan Love Story.

80 plant-based recipes are housed in a gorgeous hardcover, accompanied by enticing colour photos. It really is a joy to flick through.

You can buy the new vegan cookbook by tibits (in partnership with Zurich restaurant Hiltl – the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world) by popping into the restaurant on Heddon Street in Mayfair, or online here.

Let’s hope this book is another step in the journey of tibits becoming a fully vegan restaurant.

New vegan food

Last week, I had the pleasure of being invited to a new menu tasting event held by tibits in Heddon Street.

You all know tibits, right? It is a vegetarian restaurant in central London with a huge selection of vegan food where you serve yourself and pay by plate weight.

The management enjoy having bloggers and influencers in to give feedback when they are ready to launch a new seasonal menu. Check out the photos below of the three dishes that stood out head and shoulders above the rest for me at one of these tasting events last week.

Going vegan

You all know the London vegetarian restaurant called tibits, right?

The ‘help yourself’ food provider is a favourite for diners looking for plant-based food as the majority of their food ‘boat’ is 80% vegan on any given day. Regular items include super food salads, seasoned potato wedges, sticky toffee pudding and Victoria sponge cake.

It is tasty food with a decent vegan wine and beer selection to boot.

But things are changing slightly over at tibits. Check it out:

Look of love

Are you one of those people that likes to mark Valentine’s Day with a special meal and a bottle of wine? That task becomes all the more difficult when you throw being vegan into the mix, right?

You can stay home and challenge yourself to create a fancy meal or you can head into the wilds of London looking for a vegan dinner amongst a sea of carnivorous eating options.

Recently-closed Saf was set to host a gorgeous dinner on February 14th, but you clearly can’t count on that option. So let’s help each other out. Jump into the comments section below to sound off about the best London location for a romantic vegan meal this Friday.

I am half the world away in Mexico but I would like to get the ball rolling by suggesting tibits on Heddon Street in Mayfair. This vegetarian restaurant used to be home to London Vegan Drinks and is a favourite of vegans and their friends.

On Friday February 14th, tibits will be transforming their food boat (where all the food is held) into a vegan wonderland. They are removing all non-vegan items for the day so your romantic meal can be cruelty-free. People who like to drink will also be happy with a selection of vegan beers, wines and cocktails (make sure you ask for vegan wine options to be pointed out).

That’s my tip for Valentine’s Day 2014. Now I want to hear yours!

I’m a lot like those people

With the increasingly-popular London Vegan Drinks taking place at tibits vegetarian restaurant and bar tomorrow night, I thought it the perfect time to remind you why it is still one of the finest places to dine on vegan food in London.

The first news that should get the crowds in is the new dessert menu being unveiled for Winter. The menu is the stuff of vegan dreams. tibits will be offering the following vegan desserts during December (many appearing at London Vegan Drinks!): berry crumble, blood orange cream, Bircher muesli, dates, fig cream, fruit salad, gooseberry fool, Mandarin cream, mango mousse, papaya, quince cream, Sharon fruit, sticky toffee pudding and wild berry cream.

You’re coming along, right?! Still thinking about it, hey? Well, listen up.

As a special treat for London Vegan Drinks, the food boat at tibits will be 99% vegan on the night. Yes, that is correct. 99% vegan in honour of us. It is stunning news and proof that tibits is a compassionate business committed to strengthening our community event.
