Well, check it OUT!
Cardiff. It’s your turn.
When news reached me of a 100% vegan grocery shop in Cardiff, I was ecstatic. The march of plant-based consumerism is fabulous news for our animal friends and compassionate people in Wales can now shop until they drop.
I reached out to Simply V co-founder Spencer to find out a little bit of inside information on his store:
As a vegan with a predilection for grocery shopping, I was totally in my element during a visit to Costco in Mexico City today.
Scroll down for photographic proof that I was almost overwhelmed by vegan choices in the mammoth Polanco branch of the retail behemoth.
Remember a few days ago when I posted about the best accidentally vegan product of 2015 being a cherry and bourbon sauce?
If you were too busy sleeping off your partying antics, you can check it out here.
Skip forward to today and I got my hands on the original version of this life-changing Jim Beam cooking sauce. Check out what we are having for dinner tonight.
Yes. Pulled jackfruit cooked in bourbon and BBQ sauce. Life is good.
The Jim Beam sauces are both suitable for vegans and available at Sainsbury’s.
Extra note: this photo originally appeared on my Instagram feed.
I have been the announcer of bad news lately, telling you all about the closure of vegan and vegan-friendly businesses all over the country.
But finally some happy news.
A 100% vegan shop is now trading in Sheffield.
The Incredible Nutshell has everything a compassionate Sheffield shopper needs.
I reached out to the owners of Incredible Nutshell to find out a little more information about their store.
Here is what you should know:
It all makes sense now.
This is the vegan-friendly product I didn’t know I was waiting for my entire life.
Look!
Jim Beam Cherry Bourbon Sauce. Yes, you are reading correctly. Yes, you are correct to freak out and start running to your nearest Sainsbury’s store to buy boxes and boxes of this product.
Imagine this on seitan wings?!
9% of the sauce is Jim Beam bourbon. I am in love.
How often do you see Korean cooking sauces labelled vegan in the supermarket?
I bet it’s not very often.
Check out these gorgeous-looking sauces called Yogiyo spotted by Josh in our local Sainsbury’s yesterday.
The blue label bottle is a dipping sauce while the orange is a cooking sauce. A third bottle does exist for stir frying but sadly that contains honey. How fab would it be if they could switch out the honey and veganise the entire range?
The company founder, Sue Youn, launched what she claims is the UK’s first Korean ingredient range via an appearance on the TV show Dragon’s Den. With the range now in hundreds of supermarkets around the country, Sue must have presented a great pitch on the show!
You can follow Yogiyo on Twitter.
Have you tried these sauces? How were they?
BREAKING NEWS.
I’m just a few weeks out from my move to Mexico, meaning my job with Fry’s Family Foods UK is coming to an end. I will no longer be the first to bring you exciting news such as the following:
Fry’s now have four products available to buy via Morrisons online!
You can click on the above image to visit the online shop.
The supermarket is selling just 4 of the 20+ product range available in the UK, but it is a great start.
Do you shop with Morrisons online?
Does the idea of being able to buy a tub of ready-made vegan gravy fill you with joy?
Today is your lucky day!
You can pick up this vegan mushroom gravy in Whole Foods Market stores around the UK.
This is perfect for showing up at a non-vegan’s house for a Sunday roast or Christmas dinner. How awesome would it be to pull this out at the table and annoy everyone else? I’m so vegan, I bring my own gravy.
Ha!
This is some tasty-looking food news.
Fry’s Family Foods have got new products launching in the UK and you can be one of the first people to sample them.
I know a lot of you already tried (and bought) the new Soy & Quinoa Country Roast when it was launched at VegfestUK London last month, but did you know there are three more brand new Fry’s products on UK shelves this month?
Check them out below.
