M&S has vegan Xmas drinks

I don’t personally celebrate Christmas, but I do drink trashy cocktails.

With that in mind, check out this camp range of ready to guzzle drinks being sold by Marks and Spencer.

Top photo shows the Gold Crème Brulee Liqueur, described on the bottle as containing edible gold glitter.

Next up you can see No Big Dill made from gin, dill, elderflower and lemon juice. Pour over ice, apparently!

Finally you can take a look at the Christmas Cobbler Cocktail. Made from sherry, rum and apple brandy, this is surprisingly the one with the lowest alcohol content of the three.

I’m not sure if these are all seasonal, but if you like the look of them you should probably get along to your nearest M&S pretty quickly. I’ve heard rumours of a banana liqueur in this range but my local store didn’t have it.

Enjoy!

Still vegan?

Do you ever buy the Dairy Free Sunflower Spread from Marks and Spencer? I wrote about the awesome vegan labelling of this product a year ago, but things seem to have changed since then.

It is no longer labelled as vegan. What gives?

My partner Josh reached out to the company via Twitter to see if he could get some answers. This is what he was told:

I was rushing to a meeting yesterday when I realised I was hungry. How could I possibly get through a professional discussion without some form of sustenance?

The only vegan-friendly store standing between me and my meeting was Marks & Spencer, so I popped inside to see what was good for eating on the run.

Check out what I found.

I know that Marks and Spencer have for a long time shared a list of products that are suitable for vegans (usually available in a pdf format), but I’ve never noticed them using the ‘v’ word on any actual grocery packaging.

Until now.

Josh sent me the following photo taken to his recent stroll through the M&S Ealing Broadway location. The word vegan can clearly be seen on this houmous packaging.

I am not sure if this is the start of a new trend by the retailer or a one off. The only products I have previously seen marked vegan in store were bottles of wine.

Do you buy anything from Marks & Spencer that carries a vegan label?
