This weekend in the Steel City, hungry vegans and vegan-friendly eaters can grab some great deals from the Make No Bones stable of restaurants to celebrate their launch on the UberEats delivery app.
If you have been watching my daily Vegan Quarantine videos on Facebook, you might have heard me mention that I am helping superstar vegan food brand Make No Bones with a spot of promotion.
Make No Bones is a much-loved vegan restaurant in Sheffield, feeding fans for a number of years. Unfortunately, they have been experiencing some downtime during the global crisis but that doesn’t mean they have been out of action completely.
The restaurant recently teamed up with local Fletchers Bakery to design and produce their own vegan brioche bun.
The buns have been such a massive success already with runaway sales in Tesco stores around the UK. (Order online from Tesco)
With this initial success under their pleather belts, Make No Bones have now announced a collaboration with Waitrose supermarkets.
The Make No Bones vegan brioche buns are available in Waitrose stores around the UK as of Wednesday June 17, 2020.
I asked Waitrose how they felt about the launch and a spokesperson told me:
We are excited to be launching these delicious vegan alternative rolls. At Waitrose, our vegan options are extremely popular with all our customers, not just those following a vegan lifestyle, so we know our shoppers will love these. The rolls will be a great addition to our shelves this barbecue season and will pair perfectly with our fabulous selection of vegan patties and burgers.
I haven’t been into a Waitrose store in a while due to the fact that I have been out of the country, but I will certainly be making it one of my first stops upon my return. I’ve been told by a few friends that their vegan offerings are pretty impressive these days.
You can buy the Make No Bones brioche buns online from Waitrose and be sure to click here to see the full list of stores currently stocking the product.
Welcome to Vegan Quarantine: Day 25. This daily video series is my way of trying to keep spirits high within the vegan community while supporting independent business, charities, and musicians.
Superstar vegan eatery Make No Bones of Sheffield has been collaborating with local bakery Fletchers to design the perfect vegan brioche.
And guess what? They have done it!
Don’t they look sensational?!
I asked Lauren from Make No Bones to give me a brief comment on the brioche launch and she said:
From our point of view, we are dead excited that there is a demand for vegan brioche and how far the accessibility of vegan food has come!
The Make No Bones vegan brioche buns launched in 400 Tesco stores today (January 27, 2020). I haven’t seen a store list yet but I have heard that they are mostly in Tesco Extra locations.
One of the finest places to eat vegan food on the planet is Make No Bones in Sheffield.
This comfort food hot spot is legendary with local people and is also quickly developing a reputation as a place to visit for people all over the planet.
Yes, the food is THAT good.
Fans of Make No Bones love the place so much, they demanded merchandise in order to show their dedication in public.
The restaurant has come up with a bunch of super cool merch that you can order online. Check it out.
First up, the apron. How cool will you look as your are cooking up a vegan storm in your own kitchen?
Lay your eyes on this gorgeous tea towel. It works for drying dishes, but it is so pretty I would consider framing one for my kitchen wall. Or sowing two back to back to make a cushion!
What about a t-shirt? Make No Bones has you covered. The avocado wings is on the front, while the back features the name of the restaurant. Style.
Lastly, you can buy a gorgeous Make No Bones pin. Imagine how fine you will look with this snappy little badge on your collar.
Remember when I posted about my mate Dave at Make No Bones turning my dream into a menu item?
Quick recap:
I had a dream about a bagel filled with vegan bacon and cheese that was battered and deep fried. In my dream I named it the BagNut because it was a cross between a bagel and a donut.
Fast forward to right now and we are two days out from the BagNut being added to the weekend menu at Make No Bones in Sheffield.
Take a look at them below.
There is a savoury and a sweet NutBag launching this Saturday (September 22, 2018).
The savoury features bacon, cheese, tomato, and pickle in a dill batter while the sweet version has hazelnut chocolate in vanilla batter, served with crushed ginger biscuits, warm ganache, and sprinkles.
This is FGV dream invented food. You need it in your life!

Superstar vegan eatery Make No Bones is closing this Saturday June 16, 2018 in order to move to their new location with a grand re-opening in early July.
Dave from Make No Bones told me:
We’re really excited about the new venue but we’re a bit sad to be leaving our little yellow cafe. MNB has been going for nearly 5 years now with 2 of them in our current place. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has eaten with us and supported us all along the road. The new venue is a lot bigger and we have designed a lot bigger menu to go with it. The place looks amazing and will have a great selection of vegan beers, cocktails and soft drinks as well as our food. Last day at this place is Saturday and the new one opens early July.
Congratulations to Dave, Lauren, and the entire MNB team for what they have done for vegan food in Sheffield.
They are most definitely entrenched on the list of best vegan food providers in the UK. Everything they create is sensational and I can’t wait to see what they conjure up in their brand new location. I’m hoping to share some sneak preview photos from inside the new place soon, so stay tuned.
Don’t forget that Make No Bones will also be involved with the 2nd annual Sheffield Vegan Beer Fest this August. You can buy cheap early bird tickets online now.
