Do you need a job and are OK with relocating to Bristol, UK if you don’t already live there?

Vegan pizza on a canal boat

It’s easy to get a bit jaded.

Are we getting overwhelmed by vegan news and vegan opening? Have we reached peak vegan?

Just as I thought I could no longer be impressed, along comes a vegan pizza canal boat!

https://www.instagram.com/p/BkuwdLYnje4/

The Country Punk Kin Pizza Boat is a travelling vegan takeaway pizzeria travelling, stopping, and serving up delicious pizza regularly between Devizes and Bristol.

The concept is simple.

Follow the pizza boat on Instagram to find out where they are moored and then show up for pizza.

I couldn’t be more in love with this concept if I tried.

Please follow The Country Punk Kin Pizza Boat on Instagram and make plans to eat with them this summer.

Vegan fish and chip shop

Is this a UK first?

Word has just reached me of a vegan fish and chip shop being readied for a grand opening in the UK city of Bristol. Is this the first 100% vegan chip shop in the country?

There are very few details at the moment but Jason, one of the owners of the new venture, wanted me to pass on this information to anyone who was curious or had heard whispers:

I’m one half of a partnership that is starting Bristol’s first 100% vegan chip shop next month. We are taking over a Chinese take-away in the city and converting it to a vegan take-away. We will be serving regular things you get in a take-away like curry sauce, gravy, mushy peas, there will be pea fritters and battered sausages and tofish too. Most of the ingredients will be organic. I’ll let you know more soon as we are in the process of getting our marketing side together and working on the images and fonts. The chip shop will be called Matter Battered and we are working on the shop front this week.

Wow!

Rest assured that I will bring you details, photos and links as soon as they are available.

Anyone excited?!

Vegan ice cream in Bristol and London

You would think being a groundbreaking vegan shop with two locations would be enough, but apparently not. Vx has gone and raised the bar by making and selling their own vegan ice cream.

J2Vlc5Zq

If you drop by either the new Bristol location or the original Kings Cross store front, you will find a rotating selection of enticing flavours all hand made by the Vx crew.

Recent flavours have included Vego Caramel, Mint Chocolate with vegan After Eight bits, Blueberry Lemon, and Rum Coconut with raisins. All flavours are also gluten free, if that is a concern of yours.

The team are also open to suggestions so make sure you put a word in for you favourite combination when you stop by to pick up a few tubs.

Yay for vegan ice cream!

Vegetarian restaurant is now a UK chain

By 1847 is a restaurant serving vegetarian food (with a solid showing of vegan offerings) located in the heart of Manchester. You can see my original post about the restaurant from WAY back by clicking here.

I’m not sure if I’ve been completely asleep but somehow I have missed how rapidly this business has expanded and how far flung the new locations are around the country.

By 1847 now have the original Manchester location plus Brighton, Bristol and Birmingham outlets. They are spreading quickly.

12592229_1142685329083771_2470671123846580695_n

Pop along to one of the restaurants to check out their vegan offerings, including a multi-course Sunday lunch option.

It’s a shame that such a gorgeous meat-free restaurant chain with a smart vision on how to expand still includes dairy on the menu. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my dining experiences with By 1847 but that enjoyment is dampened somewhat by knowing they serve animal derived ingredients.

By 1847 really know what they are doing with food, wine and beer. I sincerely hope they come to see dairy as an unnecessary part of their success.

Follow By 1847 on Instagram and visit their website for location details.
