Vegan pies

A long time ago, I hosted a pop up supper club with a talented food creator named Indira. Do you remember?

The night was a celebration of pies and every attendee was bowled over by her delicious creations.

Time has flown by since that tasty night back in October 2013 but I have some extremely exciting news to make the memories of Indira’s outstanding food come flooding back.

Burger and salad

Here is a quick post from Paris about a fabulous vegan burger restaurant with two locations.

Actually, M.O.B. is a chain with three locations. Two of these are situated in Paris while the original is in Brooklyn, U.S.A.

My trip a few nights back to the Rue Charlot location in Paris was a tremendous success. Every part of the experience was gorgeous, from the food all the way to the decor. The person taking my order talked me through the entire menu and I couldn’t have been happier with the service.

Check out the photo below of my delicious smoked burger, kale salad and beer.

I would recommend this as a wonderful place to get 100% vegan food anytime you are in Paris. I wanna go back now!

Visit the M.O.B. website to see all their locations, menus and opening times.

Vegan mince pies

It is the time of year when people start eating things they would otherwise not consider eating.

Take the humble fruit mince pie as an example.

This unusual blend of dried fruits, spices, sugar and pastry is a staple at the end of the year. People eat them as snacks, buy them to go with their cup of tea and even give boxes of the things to friends and family. Fruit mince pies are everywhere but only as we approach the frenzy of Christmas. If people love these things so dearly, why aren’t they eaten year round?

Now one of the biggest coffee shop chains in the UK has joined the festive food frenzy by selling a vegan version of this traditional snack.

Express chocolate

I was racing through Piccadilly Circus Underground station a few days back when my greedy sensibilities got a pleasant shock.

Gorgeous chocolate shop chain Hotel Chocolat now have a mini outlet on the station concourse!

I have written about the many vegan suitable items created and sold by Hotel Chocolat and how over-the-top helpful the workers are when you ask about treats free from animal ingredients. You can read my original blog post here.

The new location inside Piccadilly Circus station is tiny. Check out the photo below and what you see is what you get. It is miniature. The staffer smiling for my shot was excited that I was excited, telling me the store had been opened for the first time ever only half an hour before I snapped the shot.

Vegan food in Exeter

I’ve never been to Exeter. I don’t think. I would remember if I had been to Exeter in my life, right?

I’m pretty certain I have never been to Exter in Devon but if I wanted to go, I now know of two pubs that each have a vegan menu for me to work my way through.

The Farmers Union and The Twisted Oak are two pubs owned by the same people and fortunately for the vegans and vegan-curious of the region, these people have decided to add an entire selection of vegan meals to their menus.
