Little Green is a vegan café, bar, health food store, and social space in Newcastle.
It has proven to be extremely popular with, and valuable to, the local community and it needs your help.
If you are reading this post on either August 21 or 22 of 2019, it would be wonderful if you could take a moment out of your day and a few coins out of your wallet to help support the security and expansion of this crucial independent vegan business.
Little Green currently has a CrowdFunder campaign in order to enhance their refill station in order to promote low waste living.
This is what Little Green has to say about the campaign:
When we first discussed our ideas and plans to open a plant based cafe and health food shop, a huge part of it was to be as eco-friendly and kind to the planet as possible. Having a refill station so people can come in and help themselves to various liquids, using their own containers and therefore cutting down on plastic was important to us and we set up a small station in the cafe. This has proven popular with our customers as there isn’t anything like this in our immediate area but there is much more we would like to do. We have taken example from other businesses and are looking to build a bigger structure providing more options including foods such as grains and rice so more customers can visit and help themselves thus cutting out packaging.
All of this is part of our commitment to providing tasty, healthy food, great nutritional advice through our resident nutritionist Gareth with vitamins and products to suit your needs and a lasting commitment to be kind to our planet. We would really love to expand on the services we provide to as many as possible.
This is a fab campaign to throw your weight behind. There is only one day remaining for the campaign and they are currently at 82% of the target.

Sheffield. Have you been into your superstar vegan grocery store lately?
Well, I’ve got a very solid reason why you need to get in there ASAP.
The Incredible Nutshell located in Heeley has long been one of the best vegan shops on the planet. They stock a HUGE range of plant-based treats, chilled products, and goodies for your pantry.
And now they are selling the new and improved Jeavons toffees and chocolates.
Check out these images below.
Jeavons have spent several years raising funds for new machinery and trialling how to use it in order to produce all their treats on a bigger scale as opposed to their previous handmade techniques. This upgrade was crucial due to the immense demand for their tasty treats.
The Incredible Nutshell has always been a champion of independent vegan food producers, so it should be no surprise that the Sheffield store is proudly selling these toffees and chocolates.
Get into The Incredible Nutshell to be one of the first in the UK to try the new and improved treats by Jeavons. Click here to see all the details including address of the shop.

If you are in Edinburgh, you had better make this West End business your new local for coffee, sandwiches, and baked delicacies. It is a big deal to make this sort of statement with a business and Chapter One deserves all our support.

Award-winning plant-based Oumph! is now on the menu in The Diner at Butlin’s Minehead and Bognor Regis resorts.
Oumph! is offered as a plant-based option in a selection of dishes on both the starter and the main course section of the menu.
“We are really proud of our exciting new menu in The Diner and are pleased to be offering our guests the choice of Oumph! as a vegan topping on our Traditional Tacos as well as the House Cobb Salad. Our new menu features everything from authentic American dishes and build your own burgers to delicious thick shakes, delighting our guests and providing great value for money,” says Jenny Cooper, Head of F&B and Retail Marketing at Butlin’s.
At Butlin’s one of the best things about getting away is giving yourself the time to do things you don’t often get to do at home, and Butlin’s know that sitting down together to enjoy a meal as a family can be one of those things.
Jenny Cooper continues:
“In the past year we have seen increased demand for us to offer a wider variety of vegetarian and vegan menu options. Oumph! is the perfect choice since it is very versatile and suitable in a range of different dishes. The fact that it’s not only vegan but also gluten-free is an added bonus.”

Vood Bar is a fabulous vegan food truck set to impress in Cornwall very soon!
The truck is re-opening after a Winter break on April 5, 2019 with a little re-opening/anniversary party at Polgoon Vineyard and Orchard in Penzance (all their wines and ciders are vegan!). The party will take place between 4:30pm and 7:00pm.
Following on from the opening, you will be able to find the food truck either at their usual pitch at Sennen Cove during the weekends from 10:30am to 6:00pm (more days during school holidays) or at local festivals/events.
The food business updates its hours regularly on social media so that people know where to find them. Follow them on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
When the Summer season picks up, they’ll be open Wednesday until Sunday with longer hours.
The Vood Bar menu is designed around the kind of food people want to eat by the Cornish seaside, using local ingredients. Truck operators Zel and Shardae love travelling and love trying out vegan versions of traditional dishes when they travel, so they wanted both locals and tourists to be able to have traditional Cornish experiences, such as eating ‘fish and chips’ on the beach, when visiting them.
Their regular menu items are:
Cider-battered ‘tofush’ and battered chips, served with tartare sauce and lemon (and they’ll be introducing an optional extra of pea fritters this year)
All day breakfast bap with streaky seitan, scrambled tofu, veggie sausage and garlic mayo
Bean and mushroom seitan burger with a Cornish BBQ ale sauce (optional extra of cashew cheeze and streaky seitan)
Cornish pasties – ‘traditional’ or cashew cheeze and onion
Hummus and crunchy veg wrap with Cornish dukkah
Vood Bar also serve various cakes and biscuits such as rosemary-infused lemon drizzle cake or G&T cupcakes.
This year they’ll also be adding a few extra regular menu items such as a balsamic tofu, avocado and mango salad wrap and blueberry bran breakfast muffins.
Vood Bar make everything themselves (besides the bread, which we source from a local baker) – all of the tofush, seitan, cashew cheeze, pastry, sauces, sausages, everything!
