Vegan Jade Cake in London

I haven’t really been super impressed by desserts in London over the last few years. Usually I enjoy them, finish them, and move on with my life.

But all of this got turned upside down last week near Liverpool Street.

Vegan Jade Cake

Last week I was fortunate enough to eat one of the most memorable vegan desserts I’ve tasted in a very long time, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

The Jade Cake at CookDaily inside Boxhall near Liverpool Street station is something truly special.

This gluten free masterpiece starts with a base of Medjool dates, cashew nuts, and hemp before giving way to a creamy coconut centre. On top sits a vibrant pandan ganache, all finished with raspberry crumble and a drizzle of white chocolate.

It is fresh, rich, creamy, fragrant, and unlike anything else I have come across in London’s vegan food scene right now. Every element brings something different to the experience and it all comes together perfectly.

If you’ve already eaten at CookDaily, you’ll know the savoury food is reason enough to make the trip. Their flavour-packed dishes have built a loyal following over the years and deservedly so.

But now there is another reason.

This Jade Cake is worth seeking out all by itself.

Whether you finish your meal with a slice or simply pop in for the cake, I think you’ll understand why I am making such a fuss. London has no shortage of vegan desserts, but this one genuinely feels like it deserves shouting about.

If you get the chance to try it, let me know if you agree.
