Ultimate vegan shopping

Ultimate vegan shopping

Josh has left me all alone in Mexico City for a week to jet off to the USA.

He took some time out of his busy schedule of enjoying sunshine and making eyes at alligators in Florida to send me the following photos he took in a Whole Foods Market outlet.

Check out all the amazing vegan products rammed into these fridges!

I can’t quite believe it.

Imagine if this was your local grocery store?! I can see TofurkyFollow Your Heart, Earth BalanceBeyond Meat, Upton’s, Field Roast and so many, many more compassionate brands.

But that’s not all.

There was a section with a sign above it called vegan pizza. Yes. An entire section dedicated to vegan pizza.

That is maybe too much for me to handle. I would definitely need emotional support. I’m glad he didn’t send photos of the vegan ice cream selection. It would have finished me.

How would you react to such overwhelming choice?

  1. My first experience of Whole Foods Kensington was bewildering enough, but this is on another scale!

  2. For Americans that kind of choice is normal.

Wouldn’t it be great if Whole Foods in the UK gave us the same options? They won’t do it unless they know there is a demand. So please, when you are at Whole Foods in the UK, request more vegan items!

Or contact them online. Here is the site for the Kensington store: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/kensington

and here is a link for the Piccadilly store:

They have comment forms at the bottom of the pages.

  3. Nice. I still don’t like this idea that those are ‘meat alternatives’, as if meat was any alternative to them. 🙂

  4. I am hoping for a similar wide selection in the Whole Foods store set to open this fall in Victoria BC Canada. I’m always envious of the range of vegan products in US stores when I travel there.

  5. The USA is not who to be envious of! This oales in comparison to Veganz in Berlin. They have loads of German stuff (so many different varieties of vegan sausage…), plus imports from all over Europe, plus imports from the USA. Their selection is 3-4 times the size of any USA whole foods I’ve been in.
