Vegan ice cream on the move in London

You all know about the wonderful vegan ice cream store in central London called Yorica, right?

Their frozen treats and soft serve yoghurts are amazing, so it’s fantastic to bring you news of their expansion.

First up, Yorica has a truck that is currently serving at Greenwich Market every week Monday through Friday from 10am until 5pm. They will also be serving some weekends and will keep popping up during these times throughout the summer.

Look at this truck!

In other news, Yorica will be opening its second store location very soon. The next Yorica will be in Notting Hill, meaning west London is going to get a taste of the good stuff.

Follow Yorica on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Be sure to congratulate them on their news!

Yay for vegan ice cream!

Extra note: I first blogged about Yorica way back here.

Vegan banana split

I know the majority of readers are based in the socially, politically and financially crumbling UK so I thought I would offer you some pure vegan food escapism to brighten up your bleak week.

During my trip to Los Angeles last week, I had the extreme pleasure of visiting a completely vegan soft serve frozen yoghurt store located in Glendale.

Yoga-Urt is a gorgeous experience from top to bottom. Friendly people, delicious yoghurt (old school, isolationist UK spelling!) and a delightful selection of vegan toppings.

Take a look at the stunning banana split below and tell me if you can even handle it!

In a swirl

Finally. Oh, finally.

The Vegan Ice Cream Wars just got serious. Yes, we have enjoyed slurping away at chocolate, vanilla and other plain favours in the UK for years but what we desperately needed was someone to add a bit of excitement to proceedings.

Get the job done, Bessant & Drury’s.

I was waddling through Waitrose today when the familiar B&D packaging caught my eye as I passed the frozen food section. I almost passed without incident until I did a double take when I saw a magical word.

Swirl.

Yep, you got it. Vegan frozen dessert containing luscious fruit swirls all throughout. Mango swirls or coconut and raspberry swirl. Oh my!

The first photo shows the two flavours being considered while the second shows the fortunate flavour that made it back to my freezer. The raspberry is rich, decadent and lovely. I can’t wait to get back for the mango.

Good job, Bessant & Drury’sYou are winning the UK league of the Vegan Ice Cream Wars.
