Best vegan brunch in London

Essential Vegan has always been one of the best places for vegan food in London but now that they have relocated to inside Dalston Superstore, they are also serving the BEST BRUNCH in London.

Vanessa of Essential Vegan invited me down to try the brunch and I’m serious when I say I haven’t tasted anything this delicious in a very long time. Look at that full Brazilian breakfast! The plate features house made seitan sausages, beans, toast, tofu scramble, potatoes, and a secret recipe spicy relish.

The photos above from my visit also show the jug of Bloody Maria I consumed, as well as some of the signature Essential Vegan starters.

Oh, did I forget to mention this is also drag brunch?

Local drag queens host the brunch every weekend with lots of camp music, games, and entertainment. Seriously the best spot in the city right now. And the entire venue and bar is vegan so you never stop winning.

Bottomless vegan brunch in London

No matter if your Valentine’s Day is going great or less than desirable, this news is guaranteed to make it better.

Superstar purveyors of plant-based comfort food Young Vegans are launching a bottomless vegan brunch at their pizza restaurant in Bethnal Green, London!

What is a bottomless brunch?

Don’t worry, you get to keep your pants on. Bottomless brunch means you get to drink and eat as much as you can/want from a selected menu for a set amount of time.

The Young Vegans bottomless brunch features unlimited pizza AND unlimited Prosecco or beer for 90 minutes for a flat rate of £30 per person!

The bottomless brunch is available only via advanced bookings on the Young Vegans Pizza Shop website or Open Table for times between midday and 5pm every Sunday, starting on Sunday February 16, 2020.

Some of the rules for the bottomless brunch:

  • You must eat everything (no leftovers/takeaway)
  • Doesn’t include any side dishes
  • Only one pizza at a time per two people

I love the sound of this bottomless brunch!

The drink menu also features organic wines and cocktails (such as a gorgeous Bloody Mary), Aperol Spritz, gin and tonic, and their special Hackney Mule for extra cost. The beers are from Hackney Brewery, which brews just 15 minutes from the restaurant.

New vegan brunch spot for London

This October Club Mexicana at The Spread Eagle, London’s first 100% vegan pub, will launch their brand new Mexican-Californian brunch, kicking off weekends with the likes of chilaquiles, chick’n & waffles, and brunch cocktails every Saturday and Sunday.

Inspired by founder Meriel’s travels through Mexico City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and a stint living in Melbourne, where brunch is a formative part of the weekend, the menu will include dishes packed with flavours from the sunshine cities. Mains will feature: ‘Huevos Rancheros’ with scrambled ‘eggs’, Mexican ‘chorizo’, black beans, avocado and salsa verde on a grilled paprika tortilla; and – Mexico City favourite – chilaquiles: fried corn tortillas drenched in salsa roja, roasted pepper queso and sour cream, topped with pickled jalapenos. Club Mexicana’s infamous chick’n’ & waffles with chilli infused maple syrup are making a comeback, and signature tacos are getting a breakfast twist with combos including fried potato and ‘chorizo’ topped with avo and sour cream. Meriel has also created a host of snacks like the deep friend avocado with a miso lime dipping sauce, and those with a sweet tooth will not be left out with deep fried ice cream; warm chilli-chocolate brownie with peanut and caramel sauce and taco millefoglie with lemon curd, blueberries and vanilla whipped cream.

The Spread Eagle will be serving up brunch cocktails at the bar, including their famous Spread Eagle Bloody Mary made with horseradish infused vodka, the Avocado Colada, with pineapple, avocado, white rum, coconut milk and lime, and the Coconut Tequila Shrub with coconut tequila, grapefruit, cider vinegar and soda. Sherri has also devised a selection of Kombucha cocktails from the Passion Fruit Mimosa with passion fruit puree, Prosecco and passion fruit JARR Kombucha, to the Beetroot Punch; beetroot shrub, dark rum and ginger JARR Kombucha.

The Spread Eagle co-founder Luke says ‘We’ve been itching to get brunch off the ground since we opened – we’ve always wanted to pub to be a place for all occasions, so we cannot wait to open our doors and welcome those seeking refuge from a hangover with a taco or two, or those looking for a few drinks with friends to kick off their weekend!’

‘Our style of cooking lends itself to brunch and it’s been so much fun creating a whole new menu with lots of exciting dishes – chilaquiles are definitely a winner! Pull up a stool at the bar and order them with a bloody mary I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday’, says Meriel.

Brunch will be available between 12pm-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays from the 6th of October, 2018. For reservations please visit https://www.thespreadeaglelondon.co.uk

London vegan café keeps impressing

I’m not trying to be provocative or dramatic, but I truly think TEMPLE GOODS of Hackney is heralding in a new era of vegan food for London.

They keep getting better by the day and have raised the bar like nobody else.

The café (located on site at Hackney Downs Studios) is now open 7-days a week and is serving all day brunch on the weekend, exclusive weekly specials, decadent cakes, coffee, and some of the most inventive plant-based cuisine you can find anywhere on the planet.

And you know it is run owned and operated by the Temple of Seitan team, right?!

The Chick’n Club sandwich featuring their RIDICULOUS vegan bacon and egg is next level. I’m shocked (in a good way) by the quality of the cuisine being served up daily inside TEMPLE GOODS.

Check out some of the photos below including noodle salad, the brunch plate starring the realest non-egg you will see, and the aforementioned club sandwich.

Doesn’t it look gorgeous?

Follow TEMPLE GOODS on Instagram to stay updated with all the latest food photos and be sure to get along soon to try it for yourself.

Remember, the café is on site where we host Hackney Downs Vegan Market every Saturday so you can combine a trip to the market with a visit to TEMPLE GOODS.

The café is also one of our locations for London Vegan Beer Fest on Saturday July 14, 2018. TEMPLE GOODS will be transforming into a beer hall for the day with specials such as bratwurst and pretzels. They will only be serving customers with London Vegan Beer Fest tickets so be sure to book your early bird tickets right now.
