Another one closed

A vegetarian Italian restaurant that has long attracted vegans has shut its doors in London.

Amico Bio has posted the following message on its website:

We are very sorry to inform you that our Holborn restaurant will be closed due to a restructuring programme, however, our Barbican branch will remain open as usual with extended opening hours. We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please check back for further updates.

I’m not sure if that means the Holborn branch is gone forever, but if you are a fan of Amico Bio you can still visit their remaining central London location at 44 Cloth Fair.

How do you feel about the Holborn Amico Bio closing?

More vegan pizza

Vegan pizza is the new trend in food, it would appear.

Following on from the news that Firezza is now offering vegan cheese as an option, another restaurant has started advertising a vegan pizza on their menu.

Check it out!

ICCO is a much-adored Italian restaurant on Goodge Street that claims to offer ‘London’s most authentic Italian pizza’.

That authentic pizza now comes vegan if you want it!

You can find out more and view the menu here.

Has anyone tried this pizza? Would you recommend it?

Pizza in Chelsea

You all know my pal Sara of Pomodoro E Basilico, right?

Sara has created a huge following thanks to her gorgeous supper clubs and handcrafted cuisine such as pizza, pasta, cream filled donuts and tiramisu.

If you’ve never had the pleasure of sampling Sara’s food, you will want to get yourself to Chelsea this Wednesday (April 22, 2015) for the Startisans Indoor Market in Duke of York Square (nearest Underground is Sloane Square). Sara will be hosting her first ever market stall and from the look of the photos she sent me, you won’t want to be anywhere else.

The market runs from 10am until 4pm and the Pomodoro E Basilico stall will feature pizza slices containing Sara’s homemade versions of chorizo, Mortadella ham, Stracchino cream cheese, mozzarella and ricotta. 100% vegan pizza by the slice!

Now for the photos. Don’t freak out.

If you are in London this week and are not attending London Vegan Drinks, I have two questions for you.

My pal Sara is a much-loved food creator and she has once again put together an eating experience for hardcore foodies. Sara has just arrived back in the UK following a vacation in South Africa and she is fired up, ready to put some serious food on the dinner table this week.
