Sometimes it is for work, sometimes it is for pleasure, and often it is a bit of both. Over the years I have come to believe that independent vegan traders are doing some of the most important work in our movement, often without the recognition or support they deserve.
If you find yourself in London looking for the ultimate vegan comfort food, I highly recommend stopping by Dauns near Spitalfields for this incredible Swedish hot dog.
It’s a strange mix of topics on the podcast this week.
Josh and I chat about our reactions to the Stranger Things finale, the terrifying reality of violence in the USA, and the power of Veganuary as a form of vegan activism.
Bad quality video and audio. Often bad takes on topics. But we keep making these episodes of Tell Me Where I’m Going (Wrong) regardless.

You can order my book โFat Gay Vegan: Eat, Drink and Live Like You Give a Sh!tโ online now. It has been out a while now but is still a good read. You can also listen to the Audiobook read by me!
Today I wanted to take a few moments of your time to draw attention to a song called Empty Seat and the person behind it.
The song feels especially poignant to me because it was written and performed by my friend Josh, who many of you will know was my partner for twenty years. The song is an emotional look at the end of our relationship as it morphed into an ongoing friendship and how Josh managed to process the emotions around it.
The date for Veganuary Fest 2026 is fast approaching, so I wanted to stop by with the updated trader list for the day.
Of course you know the event is taking place from midday on Saturday January 24, 2026 at Signature Brew out at Blackhorse Road, but you might not know what food is being served on the day.
The mainstreaming of animal exploitation goes on and on. It is not hidden away in some dark corner. It’s not a secret. It is right there in front of us every single day, but the trick is that the violence is made to feel normal.
From an early age we are taught a set of stories that smooth everything over. Animals are happy. Farming is wholesome. Meat is inevitable. Language does a lot of heavy lifting here. Killing becomes processing. Body parts become products. Suffering becomes efficiency.
Veganism is about seeing this suffering for what it is… and doing something about it.
