Gorgeous vegan food in north Wales

As fabulous as it is seeing the explosion of vegan food businesses across the UK, I do worry about ever having enough time and money to visit them all.

Take Harvest Vegetarian Kitchen for example.

The food being served looks absolutely stunning but when and how am I ever going to get to Wrexham in Wales?

However, the more I read their GIANT vegan menu the more feasible the mammoth journey seems.

The Harvest menu features all manner of stir fried dishes, noodle mains, crispy sides and vegan meats in black bean sauce. I would order one of everything!

The restaurant kindly gave me permission to reproduce some of their photos here. Check them out!

That is only a tiny fraction of the menu. Looks fab, right?

You can see the entire menu on the Harvest website and be sure to follow their Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Leeds and Sheffield

I’m currently in Leeds and that means I get to visit one of my favourite vegan food places in the UK.

Humpit.

Check out what I devoured today in what is surprisingly the only permanent 100% vegan eatery in Leeds.

What do you think?

Humpit is located inside the Corn Exchange building in Leeds city centre, but in great news they also have an outlet in Sheffield.

You can grab gorgeous hummus bowls with a variety of toppings in two different Yorkshire cities.

Have you been?

See the Humpit menu and locations online, like their Facebook page and follow them on Twitter and Instagram.

Pizza crunch done vegan

I thought I had seen it all when it comes to vegan junk food.

I was wrong.

There is a dish in Glasgow known as pizza crunch. This outrageous food invention involves taking a slice of pizza, covering it in chip shop batter and deep frying it.

Yes, deep fried battered pizza. And of course you can now get a vegan version of this ‘dish’ that I’m told is mostly loved by people who have been drinking for a few hours.

Check out the vegan pizza crunch I got my hands on at Mono in Glasgow yesterday.

What do you think? Please take note of the hand cut chips and pickled onion rounding this out to a complete meal. LOL!

If that is not enough for you, Josh and I sampled a few other delicacies as well including the bánh mì and the to-fish and chips.

Mono have certainly got vegan comfort food down to a fine art.

Bánh mì at @monoglasgow is beautiful. #glasgow #vegan

The to-fish and chips at @monoglasgow seriously on POINT today. 🎯 #vegan

What do you think? Would the pizza crunch make your ‘must try’ list? Do you like the look of the to-fish?

Good looking food in Cardiff

I haven’t been to Cardiff for a really long time. Maybe years.

This is why I have not been able to share any photos from the 100% vegan café known as Anna-Loka, even though I keep hearing amazing stories about their menu.

13600362_608861775940829_7506095348935342712_n

Due to my inability to visit the Welsh city, the kind people of Anna-Loka sent me some photos of what they are serving up.

Are you interested in seeing some of the food? Of course you are!

Looking good at Anna-Loka, right?

You can get more details about the café on their Facebook page and follow them on Instagram.

Vegan weekend plans

Hey all.

There are two vegan happenings around the UK this weekend (November 19, 2016) that I want you to know about and it just so happens they are both first-time occurrences!

Have a fab time if you are heading out to either of these.

(Click on the images in order to visit the Facebook event pages)

Take your pick from the first ever Surrey Vegan Fair:

Or make yourself busy by attending Dundee’s first ever vegan festival.

Rabbit in Exeter

This is beyond fabulous.

The UK city of Exeter has just gone and gotten itself what I believe to be its very first vegan café. Is that right? Is this the first?

Not only is Rabbit the first fully vegan place to eat, is has the cutest logo I have seen in a long while.

I’ve been watching the food roll out of Rabbit for a few weeks on social media and everything looks exquisite.

The café is serving up mouthwatering cakes, toasted sandwiches, cheeseburgers, sundaes and more. And from the amount of furry friends I’m seeing in photos, the place must be completely dog-friendly too.

You had best believe I absolutely want this breakfast muffin!

Doesn’t it look scrumptious?!

What about this?

Get over to the Rabbit Instagram account to keep track of all the deliciousness they are serving and like their Facebook page. You can eat with them from Tuesday until Saturday each week, between 10am and 4pm.

Extra note: this café is run by the same fab people running Exeter’s vegan grocery store, Seasons. I wrote about that a while ago. Click here to read! The café is only a few hops away (get it?) from the store. See the location on Google Maps.

Amazing vegan Sunday roast

If you are looking for a vegan Sunday roast experience, I’m pretty certain you’d be hard pressed to find one that looks as good as this.

roast

This vegan and gluten free meal is being served this (and every) Sunday at The Northern Seaman micro pub in Rochester, UK.

Doesn’t it look stunning?

Steph of Ponga Foods served this Sunday roast dinner last weekend and it proved so incredibly popular, she has committed to cooking it up every week. Pre-sale tickets sold out in record time.

The plate shown includes butternut squash, roasted potatoes and even a Yorkshire pudding. Everything on the plate is vegan and gluten free.

You need to book this meal in advance each week online. Click here to see if there is any availability remaining for this week. Tickets are only £13 and that also includes a pot of beer, cider or a soft drink.

If you are too late to secure a spot this week, keep watching Ponga social media for weekly menu updates and ticket links.

New vegan cake shop in Bristol

Slow down, Bristol. Don’t go getting too cocky with all your vegan finery!

Having opened only five days ago, the brand new Earthcake is a welcome addition to an already vegan-friendly city.

14856103_545779142283493_1021289772139697684_o

Everything in the café is 100% plant based and animal-free. Earthcake focuses mainly on cakes with an eat in option including sandwiches on home made baguettes and hot drinks.

In even better news, the café will even take special orders for birthday and wedding cakes!

Click here to see the cake shop location on Google Maps and like their Facebook page.

HUGE vegan event back this weekend

You know what? I absolutely adore the West Midlands Vegan Festival so I’m a bit depressed I am missing it this weekend.

But just because I am out of the UK doesn’t mean you should miss out on this super fun annual event that now spans two full days in Wolverhampton.

14671282_1434837393210900_6687424089927646682_n

There are always a whole lot of great food stalls, a vegan bar and a bunch of cooking demonstrations.

Get over to the Facebook event page to RSVP and invite friends. Visit the website for more details.

Have fun everyone!

Brand new menu from one of the best

It’s no secret that I adore Make No Bones in Sheffield.

You only have to check out my previous post to see why I blathered on about it being one of the best places to get vegan cuisine in the UK. The food really is outstanding.

But it gets better.

Take a cheeky look at the brand new menu being launched by Make No Bones this week. I’m desperate for all of this!

14881334_10154606573028834_141010649_o

How do I even begin singing the praises of this menu?

Beer battered fish and chips? Pumpkin pie brownie with whipped cream? Philly cheesesteak? There is too much good stuff going on with this menu. I think it would cause me genuine distress to be forced to choose. I want it all.

This menu is going live THIS WEEK so get along and fill up.

Tell them FGV loves them and their food forever. xx
