I love getting free gifts and I love it even more when those gifts are in the form of boxes filled with vegan treats!
Vegan Junk Box is a new monthly subscription box out of the UK focussed on plant-based sweets and treats that are sometimes difficult to locate in stores.
The company gifted me with a box in the hope that I would like it enough to share the news with you all… and guess what?
I’m sharing the news with you!
And you can even get a discount on your first box as an FGV reader.
The monthly box costs £13.99 but you can get £5 off your first box by using code ‘FATGAYVEGAN’ at checkout.
Visit the Vegan Junk Box website now to investigate now and decide if this monthly box is for you.
I am here today (very briefly) to show you some gorgeous vegan chocolates I have been enjoying these past few weeks.
Perhaps you can get a few in for someone you love. Perhaps that person you love is you!
The selection box from Moo Free is delightful.
This confection company makes some of the best chocolate on the planet and they have fab ethical underpinnings to everything they do. Many of their employees are Autistic or Aspergers Syndrome. This is a deliberate positive employment strategy.

Just before lockdown 2.0 hit, I popped into Beanie’s Wholefoods in Sheffield to pick up some treats.
Beanies is a workers co-operative that has been running since 1986. These sorts of places are crucial for community wellbeing, so I like to support them as much as possible.
And it helps that I get vegan chocolate for my generosity. Ha!
The Montezuma’s Like No Udder vegan milk chocolate was simply superb and the Goupie boxes will bring a smile to your face. They have a range of special Christmas flavours, including White Christmas!
Follow Beanies Wholefoods on Instagram. Please support workers co-ops in your area.
Cake or Death bakery in East London sent me a box of the vegan brownies and I gotta say I was blown away.
The brownies were sensational and close to some of the best I’ve tried.
Cake or Death vegan brownies are available to order online and delivered hassle-free through your letterbox.
This paragraph from the Cake or Death website sums up the product perfectly:
Beautifully packaged in a hot pink leopard print, the Cake or Death experience is luxury treat, from it dropping on your doormat, right through to the last mouthful. These aren’t any ordinary brownies. Cake or Death brownies are everything a brownie should be and more; fudgey, indulgent and very moreish, all made with the very best quality plant-based ingredients. Both vegans and non-vegans alike are huge fans. They make the perfect treat for yourself or a friend.
I concur!

Anna & Arthur’s is a home-run business in Northern Ireland specialising in vegan-friendly baking mixes.
They kindly sent some to my house to try and just look how great this cake turned out!
I take no credit as my partner Gil did all the hard work. He said it was super simple to use and the cake baked to perfection.
I can attest to its deliciousness. I worked hard at eating it. That counts for something, right?
The other mixes I was sent were pancakes and seitan. The pancakes were flawless and we served them with vegan butter and fruit syrup. At time of writing we were yet to try the seitan mix.
These really are handy kits for people just getting into vegan baking.
I think the Anna & Arthur’s kits would be a great gift for a vegan in your life, no matter if they are well-seasoned like me or new to the lifestyle.
You can order directly from Anna & Arthur’s by messaging them via Facebook or Instagram. UK and Ireland shipping costs between £3 and £6 depending on how many packets you want!
If you have ever wondered what is the most decadent thing I have ever had delivered to my house, you are about to see.
Bakery business Cinnamon Square is based in Hertfordshire and they specialise in square cinnamon buns. Yes, square!
They have made quite a name for themselves by selling these decadent and over the top square buns and now they are out to impress plant-based eaters as well.
Check out this huge box of the vegan square cinnamon buns I was sent by Cinnamon Square.
My box contained nine square buns packed tightly into the box, all smothered in rich and irresistible frosting.

Apparently their is another heatwave coming for this weekend in London, so you probably should know about this vegan ice cream option in Angel.
Launched this summer by Copperhouse Chocolate, the rich and smooth ice creams are coconut milk-based. In even more tempting news, the chocolate ice creams on the menu are flavoured with their very own Copperhouse Chocolate drinking chocolate mixes.
That’s right, London. You have a vegan chocolate shop. You knew this, right?
Exclusively available in the Copperhouse Chocolate cafe in Angel, you can have a scoop with a brownie or waffles, try a milkshake, or they can fill a take-home tub for you.
Mint Chocolate ice cream, made using their Mintchievous Hot Chocolate, is one of the most favourite flavours for milkshakes. Other rotating flavours include Coffee Caramel, made with Monmouth Coffee and swirled with Coconut Salted Caramel, and Raspberry Chocolate made with Raspberry Dream hot chocolate and swirled with a homemade raspberry puree.
It all sounds fabulous!
You can see the exact location of Copperhouse Chocolate thanks to Google Maps.

A few years ago, going vegan meant you had to come to the harsh realisation that you would never get to eat some types of food.
But with inventive food creators hard at work to replicate non-vegan delights into more compassionate versions, us plant eaters in 2020 can enjoy treats we long thought were out of reach.
Like macaron!
Macaron is the original cookie sandwich. Traditionally made with egg as a integral ingredient, it was long thought of as a food that would never be recreated successfully for vegan consumers.
People are clever though, so we now have a vegan version of this patisserie favourite that you can order online for UK delivery.
The Adopted Vegan has created a gorgeous product that makes the perfect gift for someone you care about and yes that someone is allowed to be you!
The business sent me a box and I was swept up by the flavours.
Current flavours include:
S’mores
Apricot Passion Fruit
Chocolate caramel
Strawberry
Rocky Road
Red Velvet
Pistachio
Cookie Dough
Chocolate orange
Lemon
Coconut
Chocolate hazelnut
You can head on over to the online shop now and order for UK delivery.
Extra note for today: if you have some spare cash and would like to make a positive contribution to the world, please donate to BRISSC (Brisbane Rape and Incest Survivors Support Centre). BRISSC was established in my home city in 1973 and provides support to women (15+) survivors of sexual violence. Sugar Noms is a fab new UK-based family-owned business on a mission to spread vegan sweets across the land.
