The Spread Eagle in Homerton has announced it is searching for someone to lead the kitchen as it embarks on an exciting new chapter focused on continuing seasonal, plant-based cooking and its unique takes on traditional pub favourites.
If you’ve visited The Spread Eagle before, you’ll already know why this is such a special opportunity. It isn’t simply a vegan pub. It is a genuine community hub where people gather for outstanding food, great drinks, quiz nights, DJs, parties, and plenty of good times. It also happens to be completely vegan, making it one of the most unique pubs anywhere in the UK.
I’ve been singing the praises of The Spread Eagle for years and have always admired how the kitchen evolves with the seasons. Every menu refresh brings something new to get excited about, while never losing sight of the comforting pub classics people love.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing seasonal menus, building and leading the kitchen team, managing service, overseeing finances and helping drive the business forward. The owners are looking for someone with experience as either a Head Chef or an ambitious Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
They are particularly keen to hear from chefs who are passionate about seasonal produce, sustainability and low waste cooking, and who enjoy working as part of a close knit team where everyone gets stuck in.
Alongside a competitive salary based on experience, the role comes with tronc, a Christmas bonus, paid holidays, free staff meals, paid breaks, and a few extra company perks thrown in for good measure.
