So tasty

I scuttled down to Chelsea today to ensure I got my hands on some of Sara’s vegan pizza. Her Pomodoro E Basilico business was serving up as part of the Startisans indoor food market.

Watch the video below to check out the line up of deliciousness!

Which one would you have gone for?

Of course I didn’t settle for just one slice, ending up with the Napoli and the Cisa.

Follow Sara on Instagram to find out where she will be serving next.

Pizza in Chelsea

You all know my pal Sara of Pomodoro E Basilico, right?

Sara has created a huge following thanks to her gorgeous supper clubs and handcrafted cuisine such as pizza, pasta, cream filled donuts and tiramisu.

If you’ve never had the pleasure of sampling Sara’s food, you will want to get yourself to Chelsea this Wednesday (April 22, 2015) for the Startisans Indoor Market in Duke of York Square (nearest Underground is Sloane Square). Sara will be hosting her first ever market stall and from the look of the photos she sent me, you won’t want to be anywhere else.

The market runs from 10am until 4pm and the Pomodoro E Basilico stall will feature pizza slices containing Sara’s homemade versions of chorizo, Mortadella ham, Stracchino cream cheese, mozzarella and ricotta. 100% vegan pizza by the slice!

Now for the photos. Don’t freak out.

Well fed

My pal Liam got in touch to ask if I would like to hear his views on Fed by Water. I recently featured news of their extensive vegan offerings but haven’t had a chance to get over to Dalston to try for myself.

Thankfully, Liam loves food as much as I do. Maybe even more.

Take it away, Liam.

Design your own pizza

Use your vegan voice to help shape the future of vegan pizza.

Brighton-based pizza restaurant Morelli Zorelli already serves vegan pizza but they want your help in expanding their plant-based range.

The sourdough base specialists have a full-time vegan pepperoni pizza on the menu and most vegetarian items can be veganised with Cheezly at no extra cost.

All of this is awesome, but it gets better.

Pizza and beer

I’m currently in the southern seaside town of Brighton for the annual Vegfest celebrations and I’m investing some time into getting to know some local vegan food.

One plant-based food experience came courtesy of a pizza restaurant called Pizza Face that delivered vegan food and beer to my hotel room.

Check out the photo below.

You can now buy vegan pasta, pizza and calzone in Dalston, London. Get the facts and then get fed!

News of this vegan-friendly eatery in east London arrived to my inbox thanks to Miriam. She wrote to alert me to the really rather impressive and inclusive menu being offered at Fed By Water on Kingsland High Street in E8.

Miriam sent me the following photo she snapped of the vegan pizza menu. Check it out.

Vegan pizza reminder

Are you interested in authentic Italian pizza. Franco Manca serve some of the finest you will taste in the UK and the vegan version comes in at under £5. Actually, £4.50 to be exact.

Delicious, plant-based and under a fiver. Amazing. Check it out.

IMG_20150128_194848I asked for extra basil and a sprinkling of capers on mine at extra cost, but if plain pizza made out of chewy crust is your thing you will not be disappointed.

The restaurant is not vegan, but the servers are always happy to drop the cheese from any of their vegetarian pizzas to make it suitable for compassionate eaters.

The pizza chain has locations in Brixton, Chiswick, Balham, Tottenham Court Road, Southfields, Northcote, Broadway Market, Stratford, East Dulwich and South Kensington.

Eat up!

You can visit Franco Manca online.

Extra note: I originally wrote about Franco Manca a few years ago when they didn’t have as many locations. You can see the post here.

Pizza Express

I think every vegan in the UK knows Pizza Express now offers a vegan, cheeseless pizza so I won’t go on about it for too long.

I popped into a nearby outlet (there are over 400 in the UK) to try the Pianta, the only pizza purposively made vegan by Pizza Express. The base is topped with spinach, chestnut mushrooms, pine kernels and artichokes, with a jumbo portion of fresh rocket piled on for good measure.

As all the doughs made by Pizza Express are vegan, I also indulged in a plate of dough balls with olive oil for dipping. I suggest stressing to your server how important it is the dough balls are brought to your table without the garlic butter.

My food was tasty and convenient.

What do you think? Do you eat with Pizza Express often?
