New vegan fast food in Sheffield

Vegans ready to get Saucy in the UK.

Sheffield vegans and the vegan-curious alike are set to enjoy a true taste revolution as plant-based Saucy launches with gourmet fast food delivery in the South Yorkshire city.

Launching on July 31, 2020 Saucy is the new project from the founders of legendary vegan eatery, Make No Bones, and I’m super happy to be working with them to help with promotion.

Saucy co-founder Dave Shaw said of this new fast food concept:

“My dream has always been to feed delicious vegan comfort food to as many people as I can. While our team is busy working hard behind the scenes to get Make No Bones back up and running and serving our loyal customers again, we also wanted to bring another plan to life.

We designed the Saucy menu to appeal directly to the taste buds of decadent burger lovers and people who, just like me, can’t resist a hefty portion of crispy fries.”

Specialty menu items set to impress include the Katsu Burger featuring a fried chicken-style fillet housed in a fresh bun with sesame-infused slaw and Japanese curry sauce.

Freshly cooked fries are available in two sizes, as is the irresistible Japanese-inspired slaw when ordered as a side.

A selection of beef-style burgers sit alongside the line-up of chicken-style burgers, while fans of gourmet dipping sauces will be thrilled to see a wide range of in house sauces available to order separately to take their fries experience to another level.

Saucy is currently serving delivery only via local food app Mealbase, with more options for takeaway and delivery coming soon.

And let’s not overlook their decadent cheesecakes.

Disney star invests in vegan fast food company

One of the fastest growing fast food brands in North America just got a financial boost and vote of confidence from a Disney star.

As more and more people come to understand the value of a vegan lifestyle, a lot of people are also investing in plant-based companies. 2019 is the year that saw a whole bunch of celebrities and influencers associating themselves with leading companies focussed on the vegan and plant-based field.

Mena Massoud, the start of Disney’s Aladdin live action remake, has announced he has become an investor in San Diego-based Plant Power Fast Food.

Although best known as an actor, Massoud is recognised by his fans and social media followers as a passionate advocate of a plant-based diet. He is the founder of the travel show Evolving Vegan and is also known to regularly share photos of vegan cuisine or his thoughts about the vegan lifestyle with his 2.4 million Instagram followers.

Since opening their first location in San Diego in January 2016, Plant Power Fast Food has grown to a five unit chain with four additional locations in current development. They also have a new food truck operation in Los Angeles.

Describing his love of the brand, Mena states, “I’ve spent a great deal of time touring North America visiting a lot of plant-based restaurants. Plant Power Fast Food immediately stuck out as a big player. They have massive ambitions in the space, and they don’t just outsource their products like many of the other companies in the marketplace. There is great attention to detail, and we share the same outlook, that in order to cause real change, we have to make plant-based living accessible to the masses.”

He added that a vegan diet is much more than a fad or passing trend: “It’s about evolving in the right direction so that we can help save our planet, our bodies and our fellow living souls.”

Legendary vegan burger trader opens store

If you know anything about the London vegan street food scene, you will be aware of Big V London.

Big V is a superstar vegan burger business with multiple locations scattered around markets, including a weekly spot at Hackney Downs Vegan Market. Their burgers are the stuff of legend, lighting up social media every time they make an appearance.

Not satisfied with multiple street market locations each week, Big V owner Jill has taken the leap into the world of running a permanent burger bar every night on site at Exmouth Coffee Roasters in Whitechapel.

Open 7 nights a week from 6pm until 10pm, they have started with their full burger menu with fries and a mayo dipping menu. The business will slowly add more items over the coming weeks.

In addition to the incredible Big V burger menu, they are serving the wonderful Hell.Yum! ice cream (another Hackney Downs Vegan Market regular), FIX8 kombucha on tap, and sodas by Dalston.

You can see the exact location of the new, evenings-only Big V burger bar thanks to Google Maps. They are just a few steps from Aldgate East Underground station.

Lord of the Fries goes vegan

Legendary Australian and New Zealand fast food chain Lord of the Fries has just announced that ALL of their outlets are now fully vegan.

This is absolutely huge news.

I’ve spent a few drunken nights chomping into their luscious fries and nuggets in Melbourne and in my absence from Australia, the chain has grown and grown.

Lord of the Fries now has outlets all over including two in Sydney, nine (!!!) around Victoria, solo stores in Parramatta, Perth, Glenelg, Adelaide and the Gold Coast plus two more over the water in Auckland, New Zealand.

This place is unstoppable and now it is fully vegan. Burgers, fries, nuggets, hot dogs, breakfast items, shakes and more are ALL VEGAN.

New vegan burger bar for London

London. You are on a roll.

A brand new vegan burger business is set to open on July 1, 2017 (this Saturday!) in Camden Market and the food sounds and looks lovely.

VBurger is the brainchild of north Londoners Reuven Cohen and Amir Wayman, who have teamed up with chef Yossi Edri to open their first vegan burger bar in Camden Market.

The pair state that this is only the first of several VBurger outlets they plan to open, so it definitely feels as though London has some special to look forward to.

The menu being launched in Camden includes a beetroot burger, a falafel burger and a seitan cutlet burger. You can dress your burger up with vegan cheese or avocado and make a complete meal with skin-on fries, sweet potato wedges, coleslaw and decadent brownies.

Even better news involves the menu expanding some time after opening to include another five burgers.

This is fabulous news for vegan Londoners. We get a fast food burger joint from this Saturday and it looks like it is going to be a big deal. Get along 7 days a week between 10am and 7pm.

New vegan street food in Mexico

Mexico is too intense. The speed at which the vegan scene is expanding is mind-boggling.

Today I found out about a new vegan hamburger and hot dog stand called Pan D-Monium that opened only two months ago.

Situated in the Roma Norte district, Pan D’Moniun is serving up simple yet delicious vegan comfort food near the corner of Colima and Orizaba.

Check out these photos.
