Vegan food from the TARDIS

Would you, if you could, buy vegan food from the TARDIS?

Doctor Who fans, please remain calm with your arms inside the blog post at all times.

Over the past week or so, I have been hearing rumours and rumblings of a police box in Glasgow that had been turned into a micro café that was vegan-friendly.

I wasted no time in reaching out to owner/operator Laura to see if I could get a bit of info and a few photos to share with you.

Vegan action for Liverpool

Vegan comfort food enthusiasts in the Liverpool area have got a new reason to smile.

Say hello to The Old Hardware Shop.

This vegetarian coffee shop opened just weeks ago in the neighbourhood of Woolton Village, which is a bit of a posh area if you are to believe Wikipedia.

Amy and Rosie and the people behind this new meat free enterprise and wanted me to share some photos of their vegan options which include vegan cheese and chorizo toasties, vegan sausage and bacon butties, vegan hot dogs, vegan tuna mayonnaise sandwiches and vegan fish finger sandwiches.

They assure me they always stock a vegan cake option and vegan ice cream, while any coffee, milkshake or hot chocolate (with marshmallows) can be made vegan.

Check out the photos below, like The Old Hardware Shop on Facebook and get in there for some good eating.

Of course it is a shame the venture isn’t 100% vegan but this is sure to be a welcome addition to the Liverpool food scene for compassionate eaters.

Most of the sweet stuff I consume is made with processed cane sugar but I have recently come to adore an alternative to this regular sweetener. Vegans and vegan-curious, I would like to introduce you to Sweet Freedom.

A fair amount of vegan cupcakes

If vegan cupcakes are a sure way to my heart, I was head over heels in love today during a visit to the Ms Cupcake pop-up shop in Soho, London today.

Vegan Bear selling in Soho

Ms Cupcake is a fabulous vegan cupcake company I have written about previously and they create the best small cakes I have ever eaten. Since my visit to their Greenwich Market stall, I’ve suffered through countless sleepless nights as I’ve plotted, schemed and dreamed of a way back to their sweet treats. Well, my pleas were heard apparently. Ms Cupcake have a pop-up store situated in Soho, London this week and it is set to return again for two days next week in the same location. Positioned in a fair trade gift store called Fair Share, the Ms Cupcake table is brimming with six specially-created fair trade flavours that have to be tasted to be believed.
