Take A Bite & Smile was founded as an independent vegan baking business by owner Chiara a number of years ago. I’ve enjoyed Chiara’s delicious pastries and cakes when I have able to catch up with her at market appearances, but this new permanent location makes it a lot easier to track her down.
Everything served inside the artisan bakery is created onsite, meaning this stuff is not only the highest quality but also super fresh.
I was blown away by the fruit tart, the croissant hiding a choc chip cookie inside (!!!), and the fluffy tiramisu. The only tough time you will have at this bakery is trying to pick just a few items. I wanted it all.
The cafe is also specialising in a few savoury options including lasagne and focaccia sandwiches. Grab a table inside or out and make a full meal of it all. I’m hopeless when it comes to coffee and tea as I don’t drink either, but all the other customers I saw today seemed perfectly happy with their hot drinks.
