There are a lot of wonderful things about living in London as a vegan, but one of my favourites has to be the fact that we have an entirely vegan pub.
The Spread Eagle in Homerton continues to be one of the capital’s true vegan gems, and one of the reasons it stays so special is that the kitchen seemingly never stands still. The menu changes with the seasons, giving regular visitors plenty of reasons to keep coming back.
The new summer menu has just landed with a host of fresh dishes and drinks, but today I want to make a fuss about one particular addition.

The new Sharing Platter looks like a good enough reason to book a table for this weekend.
The platter is loaded with hummus, fried green tomatoes, pickles, garlic flatbread, hand cut chips, chip shop curry sauce, and mini Korean sliders. How spectacular!
Of course, this is only one part of the new seasonal menu, so if you are planning a visit, be sure to check out the other new food and drink additions while you are there. If the Sharing Spread is anything to go by, summer is looking very tasty at The Spread Eagle.
We should never take places like this for granted. Having a fully vegan pub serving food of this quality is something worth celebrating, and every visit helps ensure it remains part of London’s hospitality scene for years to come.
