Everyone needs a break. It is good for our physical and mental health to step away from the daily demands of work, especially if you run one of London’s most adored vegan cafes.
Read more below.

Black Cat Cafe on Clarence Road, Hackney has long been a mainstay of the London vegan scene. For years people have been enjoying the hearty comfort food. It’s a welcoming space for local people and visitors alike, serving compassionate food for breakfast, dinner, and special events.
The people behind Black Cate work hard to bring this joyful foodie destination to life, so it’s only fair they get some time off.
The team will be on summer holiday from 23rd June until 1st July, 2026. It’s a short but well-deserved break to spend time with family and enjoy the sunshine.
Black Cat reopens again on 2nd July, just in time for another one of its legendary multi-course supper clubs on 3rd July.
The 7-course meal is a way for the kitchen team to show off their culinary skills by cooking and crafting unique dishes not usually seen on the Black Cat menu. Tickets are extremely limited and can be purchased online now.
Have a wonderful summer break, Black Cat. We will see you when you get back!
