Biggest Vegan Survey Ever

Have you ever wished someone would listen to your ideas and thoughts as a vegan? Like, really take notice?

A brand new project called the Huge Vegan Survey has just launched online and it is aiming to gather one of the largest international collections of information ever assembled about vegan and plant-based people.

Read more below.

The survey has been created by UK-based vegan zoologist, author, and long-time animal protection advocate Jordi Casamitjana. You might recognise Jordi as the person behind the landmark legal case that secured protection for ethical vegans from discrimination in Great Britain back in 2020. Casual little achievement.

Unlike a lot of surveys run by companies or organisations trying to harvest your email address while pretending to care about your opinions, this one is fully anonymous. No registration. No email collection. No personal identifying information. Just questions designed to better understand how people become vegan, why they stay vegan, and what the actual lived experience of becoming vegan looks like.

I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a survey like this and I’m proud to say Jordi asked me to help test an early version of the survey.

The survey is open to anyone over 18 anywhere in the world who identifies as vegan, plant-based, or something similar, as long as they can understand written English. It works on phones and computers and apparently can take as little as ten minutes to complete.

According to Jordi, the project was designed to improve on the limitations of earlier vegan studies and hopefully produce more meaningful information about outreach, behaviour, long-term veganism, and how communities grow.

And honestly, the more people who take part, the more useful the results could become for activists, organisations, businesses, campaigners, and anyone trying to understand how veganism continues to evolve globally.

Since the Huge Vegan Survey launched last month it has already surged past 5,000 responses which is, well… HUGE! Jordi is keen on getting this number to 10k and is hopeful he can reach that goal.

So if you fancy contributing to what could become one of the most useful snapshots of modern vegan life ever assembled, you can complete the survey right here:

And if you know other vegans, plant-based buddies, animal rights people, vegan-curious mates, or somebody who once ate a bean burger and loved it, send it their way too.
