How about gathering around a table with like-minded people, sharing stories, and eating seasonal vegan food?
FGV (that’s me!) will be a guest speaker for a special charity organisation during a vegan dining event in North London this month.
Read below for the full story.

Jewish Vegan Sustainable (JVS) is hosting a community dinner on Friday 25th April, 2025 at their Finchley Road headquarters in Golders Green and I am thrilled to be taking part. I have been invited to speak at this event and I would love for you to join me!
The three-course vegan meal will be prepared by JVS chefs and volunteers, with a spring-inspired menu to suit the season. If you have allergies, they ask that you email them ahead of time to discuss. While they do their best to accommodate, the kitchen is not entirely allergy free.
The dinner has been created with community in mind, and ticket pricing reflects this. There is a £20 supporter rate for those who would like to help make the dinner accessible to more people. The regular ticket is priced at £15 and there is a £10 concession rate for anyone needing a bit of extra support.
The event is being hosted by JVS, a charity doing inspiring work to promote a kinder world through plant-based living. Rooted in Jewish teachings, they focus on compassion for both human and non-human animals. Their work connects faith, food, and ethics in a way that fosters understanding and meaningful change.
As a non-Jewish person, I’m happy to be invited along to talk informally about my compassionate outlook on life as well as my work with food security charity Made In Hackney.
I would absolutely love to see some of you there. It will be an evening of connection, positivity, and good food. You can book via the JVS website.

You can order my book ‘Fat Gay Vegan: Eat, Drink and Live Like You Give a Sh!t’ online now. It has been out a while now but is still a good read. You can also listen to the Audiobook read by me!

I had to look twice as JVS automatically makes me think of the radio presenter Jonathan Vernon-Smith.
