On Saturday May 10, 2025 Made In Hackney is hosting a fundraising vegan Ethiopian cooking masterclass with the incredible Woin Tegegn, an expert in the country’s diverse regional food traditions. Woin has travelled across Ethiopia, exploring its flavours and techniques, and now she is bringing her knowledge to London to teach you how to create an unforgettable plant-based feast.
In this hands-on and informative class, you enjoy delicious injera, the iconic fermented flatbread, and whip up an array of fragrant stews, including a spicy lentil wat and a beautifully seasoned split chickpea dish. You will also learn how to make stuffed jalapeños, collard greens, Ethiopian spiced tea and even a traditional sesame seed candy.
This is more than just a cooking class. It is a chance to celebrate food, culture and community while supporting Made In Hackney’s vital work fighting food insecurity. Every ticket sold helps to fund life-changing food education and meal distribution for people in need.
If you have ever dreamed of creating Ethiopian food at home or just want to experience cooking, eating and learning with like-minded people, grab your spot now.
