Huge vegan show heading for Wembley

Exciting news for anyone in West London.

Animal rights champions Viva! have announced a huge event in September 2017 that will take place in the London suburb of Wembley. As a matter of fact, the venue is right next door to Wembley Stadium.

What does the line up of the show look like?

  • Over 200 stalls
  • Catering area
  • Cooking demos
  • Talks
  • Clothing, toys, chocolates, treats

It’s great to see a show like this NOT in central London.

Compassionate ride

How charitably-minded were you when you were 15?

If I recall correctly, I was obsessed with Morrissey, Madonna, The Cure and Prince and did very little to help other people. Not that I think I was overly self-absorbed, but 15 was a time of my life where I was trying to work out who I was as I indulged in sometimes garish displays of self-determination. Most of my energy was spent trying to get into gay bars to dance all night to Bananarama, New Order and Neneh Cherry. My exploits didn’t leave much time for helping others.

Memories of how tumultuous my teen years were help me to understand what an incredible act of compassion and drive is about to be performed by Gwen Stanbrook.

Flavoured syrup is a dietary staple, right? A fabulous range of products known as Sweetbird has got me thinking that very thought.

A box of vegan goodies from Beyond the Bean wholesalers

A little while ago I was contacted by a friendly human asking if I would be interested in sampling some of their vegan syrups. I hammered out a positive response as quickly as my fat, gay fingers could type. It surely would go against the natural order of the universe for me to decline. It is always lovely to be offered a gift, but I’m a whole lot happier when the gift turns out to be ample amounts of sweet liquids and powdery chocolate.
