A little while ago on my blog I gave a shout out to a vegan soap producer who donates profits to charities and community organisations.

The Outside Project is an LGBTIQ+ Community Shelter, Centre and Domestic Abuse Refuge in response to those within the LGBTIQ+ community who feel endangered, who are homeless, ‘hidden’ homeless and feel that they are on the outside of services due to historical and present prejudice in society and in their homes.

Services of The Outside Project include:

  • Provision of identity responsive housing and spaces for the LGBTIQ+ Community
  • Professional and ‘knowledge by experience’ peer-led support to LGBTIQ+ people in crisis
  • Advocacy for LGBTIQ+ rights and needs within wider systems and services
  • Promoting improved ‘social health’ and sobriety within the LGBTIQ+ Community
  • Developing relationships with services to strengthen support for the LGBTIQ+ Community
  • Sharing knowledge to educate others on the unique and complex needs of LGBTIQ+ people

A few months ago, I blogged about a fabulous soap initiative being used to raise funds for crucial charities and social support groups.

Well, it’s time for an update.

The wonderful Bars of Hope is back with another fundraising drive this month, this time raising money for G(end)er Swap through the sale of their vegan-friendly bars of soap.

G(end)er Swap is a UK based LGBTIQ+ clothing outreach initiative and community interest company that supports gender non-conforming individuals to access clothes and community. They are a charitable organisation that creates safe(r) spaces for the queer community to access clothes through community pop-ups, bespoke workshops and exhibitions. G(end)er Swap mainly operates in England and Wales.

Bars of Hope is donating 50% of money raised from the sales of their gorgeous vegan-friendly soaps in October to G(end)er Swap.

Buy vegan soap to support LGBT charity

Great news!

Bars of Hope is ready to sell you gorgeous vegan soap AND you can help them raise funds for a London-based LGBTQ+ charity.

The independent soap company is selling soap to raise money for a different charity each month. They started the fundraising project in June 2020 and raised £332 for The Innocence Project.

This month, Bars of Hope is supporting Opening Doors London.

Opening Doors is a charity that helps older members of LGBTQ+ communities live happy, sociable, and independent lives.

Each bar costs £4 and 50% goes to charity while the other 50% covers expenses of producing and distributing the soaps.
