Club Mexicana at Spread Eagle

A few months ago I posted abut new vegan venue, The Spread Eagle.

This 100% vegan pub in Homerton, east London has been blowing people away with not only their gorgeous selection of cocktails and drinks, but also the NEXT LEVEL food coming out of the pub’s kitchen thanks to Club Mexicana.

Looking at the photos below makes me a little emotional.

I can remember going to one of the first ever Club Mexicana pop up events many years ago at Black Cat Cafe and to see the progress the business has made is startling.

Superstar business owner and devoted vegan badass Meriel has made Club Mexicana one of the most recognisable and adored food providers in London. She has cemented her brand as a recognised signpost for taste and quality. She has inspired dozens of traders to play catch up with her branding and market positioning. She is recognised by non-vegan organisers as one of our business leaders.

Vegan pub food in London

Here is a quick little bite sized chunk of news you can eat.

I’m just about to head back to Mexico City for six months so I gathered my friends in London for a farewell party at The Blacksmith and The Toffeemaker in Islington.

This pub on St John Street is a gorgeous pub that has just switched it’s entire food menu to be 100% vegan.

Check out this short Instagram video I made showing the current menu.

The polenta fries with added cheese were fabulous and I loved the toasted sandwich.

Not all of the alcohol being served is vegan, however they assure me this is being worded on and will be rectified soon.

In the meantime, all of the booze that is vegan suitable is clearly labelled.

Vegan pop up in City pub

Hey London.

As if you didn’t have enough amazing vegan food options already!

Check out this wonderful plant-based bonanza happening for just one night only in a gorgeous pub situated a few blocks north of The City of London and just below Old Street.

Kristóf Steiner is a chef from Budapest who has lived and cooked in Tel Aviv for many years, as well as running a food truck in Hungary.

Now it’s London’s turn to sample some exquisite cuisine handcrafted by Kristóf at this exclusive event at The Windmill in the City gastro pub on Saturday May 6, 2017.

The mouthwatering menu for this special pop up is as follows:

  • Mini burger in my gluten free soda bun, with sweet corn patty, avocado, and home made spicy mayo, with the perfect, crispy fries and home made ketchup
  • Aubergine shepherd’s pie topped with root veggies mash, served with green salad with beets and cherry tomatoes, with “vegan cottage”
  • Cashew baked cheesecake with salty caramel sauce
