Fry’s ditched by Ocado

Since 1991, The Fry Family Food Co has been making meat alternatives and recent data sees the brand ranked as the 7th largest meat-free brand by retail value, growing at an astonishing +211% year on year.

Yay for vegan food and yay for animals!

But the bad news?

After stocking Fry’s for the last 6 years, Ocado online supermarket has decided to stop selling the brand.

Those who rely on home delivery for their shopping in the UK will now find it much harder to access the full Fry’s range.

The Fry Family Food Co is hoping their supporters and fans can show Ocado how many customers they are disappointing and get them to reconsider the sudden decision.

If you want to get involved with asking for a reversal of this decision, tag Ocado in your social media posts. You can also write to Ocado directly at ocado@ocado.com with your opinions.

Contact Ocado on Facebook and Twitter.

You can also buy Fry Family Food Co products from independent vegan and health food stores around the UK.

New vegan items from Ocado

Supermarkets in the UK are falling over themselves to expand their vegan product ranges and that includes online retailer Ocado.

The online grocery store has always been impressive when it comes to plant-based eating, but this latest release of products takes them to the front of the pack when it comes to catering for vegan shoppers.

A wide range of meat alternatives and a few new cheeses can all be ordered online for home delivery right now, with some of the products available at a special price.

If the below photo is too small to see the details, click here to see the entire range on the Ocado website.

New vegan spreads

Here is some handy news for people looking for widely available and affordable vegan margarine.

Flora has released three new spreads and each one carries the trademark logo from The Vegan Society.

Check out the three new packs below.

The three spreads include avocado oil & lime, coconut & almond oil, plus walnut oil.

Of course some people are not interested in buying products owned by Unilever.

If you are looking for these new spreads, you can buy online from Tesco and OcadoTesco also have them in stores.

Have you tried any of these spreads? Did you like them?
