New vegan food business in Croydon

Croydon continues to impress on the vegan food front as it says hello to The Vegan Grill.

The Vegan Grill runs as a pop up street food stall on the Surrey Street Market, Croydon. They sell vegan comfort food including burgers, hot dogs, chips and cake.

You can stop by their stall between Wednesday and Saturday each week.

To keep updated on opening times and other appearances, you can follow The Vegan Grill on Instagram and Facebook.

Now, let’s look at some tasty food!

Shoreditch loses vegan food stand

Remember how excited we all were when the vegan kebab stand launched in Shoreditch?

These delicious wraps from What The Pitta took Shoreditch by storm, but sadly a lot of good things have to end.

PUMP was the food court hosting What The Pitta but it appears the organisers had to close down the entire complex. This means What The Pitta was forced out of Shoreditch, which is obviously sad news for their hundreds of loyal customers.

As upsetting as this news is, all is not lost.

What The Pitta now has a permanent location in the Boxpark Croydon complex and in addition, if you live around the Hackney area, their completely-satisfying food is available for delivery.

Get over to the What The Pitta website for links showing the Croydon location and how to order in East London for delivery.

RIP PUMP. Long live What The Pitta!

Vegan eatery opens new location

You have probably spoken to someone who has been completely blown away by What The Pitta! in Shoreditch, London.

The takeaway fast food stand has devoted fans and for solid reasons. Their wraps are huge and delicious. Add vegan baklava to the mix and you have one o the best plant-based location in the UK capital. You can see my original post about What The Pitta! online here.

Now onto the fresh news part of this post.

What The Pitta! have a brand new location opening in the Boxpark complex in Croydon and they are throwing a two-day party… and you can be there with some superb special offers!

The two-day celebration in Croydon is taking place on March 3 and 4, 2017.

When you advance buy your meal deal online, you get the following for just £9.99:

  • Lentil soup
  • Vegan doner kebab OR vegan Turkish pizza
  • Vegan baklava
  • Can of Karma cola/lemon/ginger

Wowsers! That is one superb deal.

You need to pre-pay for your ticket online here to get the special price. If you show up on the day, the price will be higher. Buy quickly as I imagine a couple of hundred people will be getting involved and tickets will fly out.

Once you have your ticket, you can show up at any time during the celebration. However, lunch and dinner times will be the busiest with longer waits.

Extra note: CookDaily also has another location in Boxpark Croydon!

Now in Croydon

The only time I have ever been to Croydon was when I had to wait in a stuffy, bureaucratic office to collect the biometric visa card that allows me to remain in the UK indefinitely.

It is not a destination to which I ever think of returning. Well, until now that is!

World famous and certainly legendary food maestro King of Cook Daily and Home has gone and opened a second version of Cook Daily in the new Boxpark retail and food complex in Croydon.

Yep. Croydon is as cool as Shoreditch right now.

Take a quick look at that menu above and it’s easy to see why early reports out of Croydon have been nothing short of rave reviews.

King has a way with ingredients that sets him miles apart from other vegan food creators in the capital (and now in Croydon). It is high class cuisine in a bowl that leaves you thinking about your next visit before you’ve even finished what’s in front of you.
