LA book reading

This is a super quick post to say thank you to everyone who came along to my book reading event at Stories book store in Los Angeles this week.

It was a wonderful feeling to see so many happy faces and we enjoyed some truly fantastic conversations.

It has been a dream of mine to have a book out but I never thought I would be presenting it to such wonderful people in a store in Echo Park. I’m still smiling.

It was also exciting for me to find copies of my book available in legendary book store Book Soup in West Hollywood.

This shop is one of the most loved and famous places for books in LA, so I am truly honoured to be in there.

If you are in LA, please visit either of these independent book stores and help keep them alive!

FGV mentioned in Look magazine

If you had told me a few years ago that I would be mentioned in a glossy UK fashion and lifestyle magazine, I would have slapped you with a seitan sausage.

But here we are.

My book Fat Gay Vegan: Eat, Drink and Live Like You Give a Sh!t has just been mentioned in LOOK magazine in a column about things people should be watching, readings, listening to, etc.

It is a little bit surreal to be mentioned on the same page of recommendations as the BRIT Awards, but I’m thrilled that the vegan message (or even the idea of it) is potentially reaching hundreds of thousands of people.

If you are interested in seeing this column on paper with your own eyes, you can buy LOOK in basically every shop in the UK and in some parts of Europe.

Much love to Jillian at my publisher who has been working overtime to get this book some incredible exposure.

You can buy your own copy of the book via Amazon, Foyles, WH Smith, and your local book retailer.

My book in bookstores

When I was a young child in Australia, it was a dream of mine to be a writer.

I didn’t consider how it would happen or when or what was even involved, but I was simply drawn to writing.

I entered writing competitions at my local area shows and I even once won a prize for having a poem published in a newspaper.

Fast forward to now and here I am with a published book many decades later.

Thank you to Tsouni of Yes It’s All Vegan for letting me use this photo she took of the vegan section of Foyles on Charing Cross Road in Central London today.

It means more to me than I can explain to see my book on the shelves of a ‘proper’ bookstore amongst titles by people I love and adore… and some I don’t! LOL.

If you would like to grab a copy of my book from Foyles and help me continue to live out my childhood dream as it comes to life, you can order online or even order online to collect in your nearest store.

Foyles has my book in Stratford Westfield, Charing Cross Road, Bristol, Waterloo London, Birmingham, Chelmsford, and Royal Festival Hall London stores.

Click here to order for delivery or collection from Foyles. The website tells you how many copies of my book remain in each store. Maybe we can even give one of the stores a sellout situation?!

An FGV reading

My new book is almost out in the world and I’m getting excited!

Fat Gay Vegan: Eat, Drink and Live Like You Give a Sh!t is the culmination of a lot of work and dedication, so I’m keen to see what kind of reaction it gets after it is published on January 4, 2018.

To celebrate the impending release, I’ve decided to share a series of readings from the book.

The first one is below.

You can click here or on the image below to pre-order your own copy.

Vegan pop up in Brixton

In case you’ve missed the almost-reportable levels of spam I’ve been sending out to the universe, I’m here to tell you that I have a book being published in January via Nourish Books.

I’m also here to tell you that you can help me celebrate this book achievement AND eat some delicious food at an exclusive pre-launch supper being hosted by Café Van Gogh on December 12, 2017.

Tickets for the event are £30 plus booking fee and for that price you will enjoy a gorgeous 3-course meal and take home an advance copy of my book Fat Gay Vegan: Eat, Drink and Live Like You Give a Sh!t.

Click here to book your ticket. The dinner will run from 7pm until 10pm.

I’m thrilled to be able to support this eatery in the important work they do in assisting vulnerable and marginalised community members when it comes to finding meaningful, rewarding and enriching catering employment.

Join me for a wonderful meal and let’s support this crucial café and follow Café Van Gogh on Instagram.

If you cannot attend the meal but would still like a copy of my book, you can pre-order your copy online.
