Is My Blog Reaching Its Natural Demise?

If you had told me when I started this blog way back in 2010 that I would still be churning out posts most days in 2026, I really wouldn’t have believed you.

It has been a wild journey being the sole force behind an online publication such as this.

And as the online world continues to morph, shift, and change, I’m struggling to understand how relevant a blog is in this current digital landscape of highly-responsive algorithms and artificial intelligence. Does writing about new vegan restaurants, upcoming events, and my personal take on a wide range of topics on this platform still matter?

Or is it time for it all to come to a dignified end?

My Blog Is Moving Into Its 16th Year

This little old blog has just moved into its sixteenth year and that feels like a genuine landmark in my life.

Fat Gay Vegan has been many things over the years. It has had highs and lows. It has won awards. It has frustrated me, delighted me, exhausted me, and kept me company. It has welcomed readers from all over the planet, most of whom I will never meet but who have taken the time to read something I wrote and perhaps felt a little less alone because of it.
