That time of year

It is time.

The leaves have turned, the wind is whistling and Caffè Nero has started selling its vegan mince pie.

I picked up my first mince pie of the season at the Caffè Nero in Richmond today.

Releasing a vegan mince pie is now seemingly a yearly tradition for the coffee chain.

Have you tried one this year?

New vegan wrap

This isn’t the most exciting sandwich news you will hear this week, but I do think it is cause to celebrate whenever a massive company decides to use the ‘v’ word so noticeably.

Check out the new falafel and houmous wrap being sold by Caffe Nero around the UK. I spotted this display in their Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 outlet.

It is certainly not going to win any innovation awards, but it is fab seeing ‘vegan’ on display in a chain store with approximately 600 locations around the country.

Have you tried this wrap? What is your verdict?

Extra note: this photo originally appeared on my Instagram feed.

Fruit mince pies are everywhere but only as we approach the frenzy of Christmas. If people love these things so dearly, why aren’t they eaten year round?

Now one of the biggest coffee shop chains in the UK has joined the festive food frenzy by selling a vegan version of this traditional snack.
