Mushrooms and fungi are fascinating obviously, and now there is a chance to get better acquainted with them at a community Fungus Foray in London this October.

Taking place on Sunday 25th October, 2026 the event begins with free mushroom tea at 10:45am, followed by a woodland walk and fungus foray at 11am led by London National Park City Ranger Michael Green. Participants will learn about identifying common mushroom species, the role fungi play in ecosystems and Jewish traditions. The walk will take place whatever the weather, so sturdy footwear and suitable clothing are recommended.
The event is being organised and run by JVS, which stands for Jewish Vegan Sustainable. The organisation does amazing work bringing people together around veganism, sustainability, and community within London’s Jewish community, while welcoming people from all backgrounds to its events. I have even had the pleasure of being a special guest at one of their community events!
