I’ve been vegan for a long time and not a lot surprises me. I’ve seen it all come and go.
But my experience in Tokyo yesterday caught me off guard… I ate in a 100% vegan restaurant inside the airport!

I had to take a flight out of Narita airport yesterday and with a 9-hour journey ahead of me to Brisbane, I wanted to make sure I got a full meal before I boarded.
My flight was due out of Narita terminal 3, however I found out to my delight that there is a vegan restaurant inside terminal 2. Yes. A fully vegan restaurant inside an airport!
T’s TanTan is a vegan ramen spot with an impressive menu packed with flavourful and nutritious cuisine. Gil and I stacked our table with dumplings, vegan chicken bites, drinks, and of course ramen bowls.
The savoury options were spectacular and I’m confident in saying this was one of the best meals I had in Japan.
Dessert options were a bit more limited, but the plate of pancakes with cream and syrup left no room for complaints. I would give it more than 10/10.
Helpful note: the T’s TanTan inside terminal 2 of Narita is before you go through security, meaning you can eat here without having a boarding pass from the terminal. We were able to walk across from terminal 3 in about 10 minutes. There is another T’s inside terminal 1 however I believe that one is on the air side through security.
