Today I’m handing over control of my blog to a very special cause.
Want to learn how you might help animals in need of a forever home?
Read more below.

Take it over, Kiki’s Hope:
Kiki’s Hope for Animals is a small rescue, and since 2014 we work tirelessly to support stray, abandoned, and vulnerable animals across various regions of the Balkans, mainly Serbia.
We have a small team in the Balkans and the rest of us are based in the UK and France managing everything behind the scenes for the rescue fundraising, social media, rehoming, and all the admin.
We are mostly vegan women with a passion for animal welfare. We are dedicated to the principle that the animals that come into our care will be looked after by us for the rest of their lives somehow.
Our family comprises around 150 dogs, 70 cats and our beloved herbivores – sheep, goats pigs and chickens, often dumped at the gates at our rescue in Serbia or saved from slaughter.

For some dogs, where we think they will settle in a UK home we promote them for fostering and adoption, with back up from us for life. We re-homed around 100 dogs last year. For the dogs that are too sick or traumatised to come to the UK we pledge to always love them and care for them, however long or short that may be.
Most of the cats and herbivores will stay with us for life and have all the care that is needed to keep them healthy, safe and loved. We hope to re-home some of the cats in the future.
This obviously isn’t cheap. It costs us at least £12,000 a month to do all this and like many other rescues we have felt the squeeze from COVID and the cost of living crisis. Our supporters are incredible and we have a great relationship with them, but we know we are squeezing them too and to survive doing what we do, we need more supporters, donating an affordable amount regularly.
This is where the sponsorship of Marigold, Esther, and Percy would be a lifeline to us. It would provide regular income to support our herbies and in exchange we can update our supporters and give them glimpse into their lives through photos and posts.
We would love supporters to meet us at Vegfest on 25th April, 2026 at Edgbaston. We will be in the Banqueting Suite with lots of lovely home-baked vegan dog bikkies, as well some cheeky socks to support our spay and neuter campaign.
You’ll have to come and find out more to see what we mean!
