Ethiopian Food on Petticoat Lane

I’m in my 16th year of blogging as Fat Gay Vegan, so forgive me if I repeat myself. A lot.

One of my favourite vegan street food traders has appeared on these pages many, many times and even popped up a few times at my events and markets. And now they trade regularly on Petticoat Lane Market.

Yes, I talking about Red Tent Ethiopia.

Read more below.

Red Tent Ethiopia

Red Tent Ethiopia has been trading at street markets and events around the capital for many years.

Their range of Ethiopian stews, curries, and vegetable dishes are flavour packed, nutritious, and always 100% vegan. I fell in love with their cuisine the first time I tried it and it has remained a favourite of mine ever since.

Sambosas

I was strolling around Central London today when I was pleasantly surprised to discover Red Tent Ethiopia now has a regular pitch on Petticoat Lane Market at lunchtime from Monday to Thursday.

For just £7 you can get a mix of the hearty food including spinach, brown lentils, carrots & potatoes, chickpeas, and red lentil dal. This bowl comes with a choice of rice, quinoa, or enjera.

I also highly recommend piking up a few of the freshly-fried sambosas. You get 3 for £2.

In addition to this weekday spot on Petticoat Lane Market, you can also find Red Tent Ethiopia every Sunday at Greenwich Market. I just did a post about all the incredible vegan things you’ll find at Greenwich Market. Read it online here.
